So Confused About Atlantis Day Pass

So the Comfort inn is already sold out for the day I'm going to Atlantis on my Cruise (July 17 via Majesty Of the seas). What other options do I have for the day pass (Waterpark in Atlantis), is a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 teens). Also I want to do the dolphin thing, what are the best options to mix both adventures.

Thanks.

also I think I read some where that if you buy the day pass thru the ship (RC) you also get a lunch voucher. Is that correct? if so, whats the value of the voucher, cuz, if they include the meal then sounds like a good deal to me, can someone that had purchase this thru RC comment? also are you getting to the hotel via water taxi? thanks.

The voucher is only good at certain grills (Hamburgers, hot dogs etc..) And does not include the waterpark

Hi Scubagirrl - How about September? We want to visit Atlantis 2nd week of September and the ship sponsored all access tour is so expensive. Think we will have any trouble getting a day pass without going through ship excursion? Also - is it safe to travel by taxi to Atlantis?

Thanks!

Lexi

I am going the second week of Sept as well.

I bought my day pass through majestic tours. this is the info they gave me:

The Atlantis Beach Day is $69.00 net per person and includes admission to the Aquarium and the Beach.

Towels and chairs are available (this does not included the pools, river rides, etc.).

The Beach Day pass does include lunch

I thought wondering around on our own would be better then with a tour. we didnt want to do the slides so this seems awesome (and we get lunch)

December thru Feb is iffy.. If there is a cold front it can be downright cold. If not, high 70's low 80's. But the water temp is closer to 70.. not like the summer months when the water is warm.

I wouldn't book an excursion until it gets closer and you know the weather forecast. And have a back up plan for cooler weather...

Much appreciated

There's Not much "wandering around" allowed without a full access pass. You can go to the beach and the aquarium and casino. Nothing else. The other areas are off limits without a full pass.

I was under the impression we can "wander" through the lobby, casino, all the shops, the Marina Village, lots of aquariums & the beach. That seems like more then enough "wandering" for us!

lots[/u] of aquariums !

There are only 2 aquariums in this pass. The DIGS (which is one big aquarium with several viewing areas, takes about 30 minutes) and the Predator Lagoon, which is the tubes, and takes another 15 minutes or so.

You are not free to wander the grounds and view the other outdoor exhibits.

If this is fine for you.. go for it..

Was wondering- I have 3 kids (4, 9 and 13) and want to go to Atlantis- beach and waterpark- I tried to book a room, but since we have 5 of course it was telling me to get 2 rooms - would it still be more cost effective to book at Atlantis instead of through Disney? Not sure of fees and which hotels were better, etc.

Thanks!

Thanks! It does look like that would be close to the price of booking at the Tower in Atlantis (because my youngest isn't yet 5 as the 3rd). But there are taxes, etc. that make it more $...

It will be a little over 700 through disney and that also includes lunch and transportation, that actually might be close enough. E-gads that a ton to drop for a day!

(Magestic- 520, plus $10 round trip each taxi = 570, plus lunch for 5, probably another 80ish? So 650. For 50 bucks I might be inclined to take the safety of the cruise...

Hi ScubaGirl,

I am new to the forum, but see your replies and you seem very knowledgable. This is our first cruise and we are doing the Atlantis Aquaventure and Dolphin swim. We were originally scheduled to be in Nassau until 10pm, but then Carnival changed our departure time to 6pm. I gave in to my kids and booked the excursion anyway...didn't want to disappoint them. I posted the question about time and got some replies that concerned me...not enough time, too rushed, etc. what do you think? Any suggestions for managing the day and making sure we get the most out of it? Thanks!

It's a bit rushed, but cruise tours usually are.

You'll need to leave Atlantis around 4:30 to be back on board on time. The bridge traffice backs up around that time and it can take a good part of an hour to get back in traffic.

Shortening the port time really doesn't make much of a difference. The water park closed pretty early... around 6 in the summer.. and 4:30 in the winter.

The park opens at 10am... make sure you get there beforehand... chairs go quickly and the lines get long. You didn't mention what time your dolphin program is. Keep an eye on the time.. long lines can make you crazy.

We also have a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 children ages 13, 11 and 6). We plan to book a room at Comfort Inn. Would it be possible to book a room for 4 to get the 4 passes to Atlantis and then buy a fifth armband through either CCL or Majestic? My 6 year old is not 48 inches so the slides will not be an option for her. Is there a different pass that would be better for her? Or will she need the full pass to do the lazy river (assuming she can do that if she is under 48 inches)? We will be in Nassau at the end of July, from 7am until 6pm.

She will need a full access pass in order to do the lazy river or any of the pools. Full access pass is needed even if she just accompanies you on the grounds.

Majestic would be a good choice for a 5th wristband.

Be careful of timing gettting back to your ship. The Bridge backs up around 4:30pm at which time it can take nearly an hour to make the 15 minute ride back to the ship. You should be prepared to leave by 4:30 to get back ahead of the traffic.

I'll be there end of sep. I just checked the rate. It would be $367 if I book online with comfort. It's only two of us so the rate is a lot more then just trying to get the day passes for us. We will be there from 8am-midnight. We plan to have dinner at Atlantis too. Last time we did Nobu but would like to Try something different. It's adds convenience but at a price. What's it like in sep at Atlantis? I checked the events and doesn't seem to be anything.

September is off season.. and also hurricane season. It should be significantly quieter.. but some things will be closed and staff will be lighter as well.

If you make a rezzie.. make sure you check when you arrive that your chosen restaurant is open that day. They close on a whim.. and somevisitors are left without rezzies for the night. So check when you get there and make your changes if necessary.

Hey all I have been looking at all of the responses and thought I would ask your opinion since I have heard great things about the waterpark and aquarium and we are so excited about our trip the weekend of Nov 29th for my 40th bday! We will be porting at about 830 am and leaving about 6 if my memory serves me right...First off is there the option of doing the beaches and water park only and not the aquarium if so what is the cost typically? or do we have to do the aquarium (not that that sounds bad I hear its great!)..the $120 doesnt sound that bad per person am I understanding this right that that price is via the cruise lines typically? or would it make more sense to go on our own to the resort or through the hotel you all are mentioning? Sorry for all the questions all I know is I am sooo excited and cant wait..its been so long since my last cruise and its been a long time coming! Thanks in advance for your help!!

We purchased our Beach Day pass through Majestic Tours. It offers the same as the cruise only we can do the tour on our own. My understanding is well be able to tour the ruins and the aquarium. We will have access to the hotel lobby, shops & the casino. It includes lunch and the beach! We only paid $69.00 per peson so I think Its well worth it. I guess the lunch will just be like a chicken basket, fries & a drink or the like but I wasnt expecting a steak dinner (some people are Debbie downers). We're suppost to pick up the tickets right there in the Atlantis lobby. They also offer the pass that includes the water slides at a cheaper rate then the cruise lines as well. This will be my 40th Birthday cruise as well :) Have fun!!!!

Pools open at 9am/ waterpark at 10. Getting back on time is tricky. You'll need to leave by 4:30 to get ahead of the rush hour traffic, which starts to back up on the bridge around 4:30. If you get caught in traffic, it can take up to an hour to get back. . Watch your timing.

.First off is there the option of doing the beaches and water park only and not the aquarium if so what is the cost typically? or do we have to do the aquarium (not that that sounds bad I hear its great!).

No option for just the beach and waterpark.. it's all included in the day pass

Cruiseships are usually MORE expensive than buying them at Atlantis or thru marjestictoursbahamas. Booking a room is a good idea if you have more than 2 ppl. But the price depends on the room rate.

Both Atlantis and majestic day pass are $120 during the week you are traveling.

Sorry for all the questions all I know is I am sooo excited and cant wait..its been so long since my last cruise and its been a long time coming! Thanks in advance for your help!!

Hope this helps

Well looks like i booked a room. I joined the free members club for Choice rewards and I was able to book a discounted room. Got the room for $300 with all fees since I booked in advance. There is only two of us so it ended up being $150 per person. But we are docked until midnight. Plan to spend all day at beach/pool/water park then relax and clean up in the room and have dinner at Atlantis also. So paying the extra to not have to travel back and forth for me is worth it.
