DBI0530 Posted May 21, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 21, 2004 Just wondering what a rainy day at sea would be like. I sure don't expect, or hope for one, but as a newbie, I was just wondering. Until we sail NCL Dawn

The Captain will usually steer around inclement weather if possible. jp2001 Posted May 21, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 21, 2004 I guess you would just take it easy on a rainy day. Good day to sleep a lot (we all need to sleep while on vacation but there is usually too much things to do to sleep as needed). On many ships, you will find the following indoor facilities/activities: - Movie theatre - Indoor pool - Spa - Fitness center - Chat and classes from the cruise director staff - Internet Café - Casino - Shops - Art Auctions - Bingo - RESTAURANTS - Pubs/lounges - Library - Board games room I probably forgot some. Obviously, those facilities will be more crowded that on a sunny day but I am sure you will find something to do. If you need some laundry done, it’s a good day to do it (but many people can have the same idea). NCL Dawn, December 2003

cruisingfromMN Posted May 21, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 21, 2004 O.K. I really hate to admit this but play hide and go seek on the ship and you see who can come up with the most outlandish hiding spot. Seriously! It is best played in teams. It also helps to start in the bar with a few drinks, discuss the rules, set limits on which deck(s)are allowed, one team stays for one more drink while the other goes and hides. Lots of fun! The more creative, the more of an adventure it becomes.

karfest Posted May 21, 2004 #9 Share Posted May 21, 2004 I have lived in 'Scansin for 13 years and still cannot bring myself to say bubbler. That one is just too odd for me. Gardencat- I got some, but then how do you fill the other 23 hours and 50 minutes? -ouch- I hope hubby's not on the boards! We had several rainy days on one cruise and never ran out of activities though we did have to hit the tanning booth when we got home so people would know we were on a vacation.
