england1 Posted March 31, 2012 #1 Share Posted March 31, 2012 Yesterday I changed me reservation from a 2C balcony to a concierge balcony guarantee. We are sailing on 9/17. When do you think I can expect to have my cabin assigned to me?
Gonzo70 Posted March 31, 2012 #2 Share Posted March 31, 2012 There is no way to know; sometime people have an assignment within 24 hours, very occasionally no assignment is made until you arrive at the ship. Also sometimes your initial assignment is not the final assignment; once my initial assignment was changed a couple of weeks later. On average Celebrity seems to have been assigning rooms quicker rather than later, but this does not occur all the time. Just frequently check Celebrity's website to see if your room has been assigned. Good luck. :)
england1 Posted March 31, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted March 31, 2012 Thanks Gonzo. I have never booked a guarantee before and am a little apprehensive about where I will end up. Hopefully, since it is a concierge balcony, it won't be to bad.
Traveling Library Posted March 31, 2012 #4 Share Posted March 31, 2012 Periodically check your reservation. We were assigned a cabin 2 weeks after booking.
gold1953 Posted March 31, 2012 #5 Share Posted March 31, 2012 Mine was within 24 hours and it was one of the more 'desired ' cabins!:D
british betty Posted March 31, 2012 #6 Share Posted March 31, 2012 Mine was within 24 hours and it was one of the more 'desired ' cabins!:D Was your booking through Celebrity or a TA ? We have booked a CC gty for the first time but through a TA. Is it possible to find out if we have been assigned? :o
CathyCruises Posted March 31, 2012 #7 Share Posted March 31, 2012 Yes, go into the Celebrity site and register if you have not already. Add in your confirmation number given to you by the TA--this should bring up your cruise info. If you have been assigned a cabin, it will show up. Rare ghstudio Posted March 31, 2012 #8 Share Posted March 31, 2012 By the way, once a cabin is assigned, you can generally request being switched on a different cabin in the same category C1, C2, etc if you find one that's still available that you prefer. Celebrity does not charge for this, although I guess your TA could. This is, however, only available to those who booked in the US...other country bookings are handled differently. I also tried to update my details, but it kept asking for a valid phone number, but it was already there, so I gave up !! Booked in the UK, it's always different for us :(
Maz_1 Posted March 31, 2012 #10 Share Posted March 31, 2012 Hi, We were allocated our CC Gty within 2weeks of booking. We booked through a well known British TA. I have the same problem with the Celebrity website. Thankfully I entered all our details before the website changed because I was trying to update some details & it kept asking me for a valid phone number. I gave up in the end.:(
dorisis Posted March 31, 2012 #11 Share Posted March 31, 2012 The good new is that you could be upgraded to a Suite category. Much larger cabins than Concierge. better amenities too. ~Doris~
