Heidi, we use to live in Elgin but now we are in Paradise (aka Floriduh). Our air conditioner went on two weeks ago and will not go off till the end of October, if then!

 

Rick - I lived in Elgin too. I actually grew up in Streamwood but that was before Streamwood had a high school so we were bused to Elgin High School where I graduated in 1976. I moved to Wisconsin after graduation but only for 2 years then moved to Elgin and lived there from 1978 to 1987. I moved to Hoffman Estates in '87 when my husband and I got married and have been here ever since. Any chance we might know each other?

Probably not, we moved to Elgin from South Elgin when we had our house built in 1985. I retired in 1997 at age 56 and moved to Florida. Also, I travelled for a living until my wife's back went South and when she was confined to a wheelchair we wanted warmth and no ice for her to fall. Fortunately, three operations later she and I go dancing every Saturday! Since retirement we have travelled all over the world although the first trip was in a wheelchair, but NOT anymore!!!

Great to see almost 50 cabins on the list!!

 

I forgot to tell you guys about my crazy cruise dreams ~ we were on an excursion on a boat. The operators were telling us there were pirrana in the water and not to lean over the side. Of course, Dave leaned over the side and fell in! :eek: The excursion people were already swimming in the water (they knew how to stay calm and not get attacked by the pirrana), but instead of just putting Dave back in the boat, they took him to shore about 50 yards away, on kind of a stage thing that was there over the water. He immediately jumped back in the water, so they took him out and the police came with automatic weapons....then I woke up!

 

A few nights before that I had a cruise dream about Dave and I and Heidi and Dave....but I can't remember what it was.

 

Last night I had another cruise dream...but don't remember it either.

 

I hope we get approved soon so I can quit having these weird dreams! ;)

No word from Laura. :( I probably check my email 6 times a day.:rolleyes:

 

I have been having some crazy cruise dreams lately too. Most of them I don't remember much about. I had one last night but I think it was about booking another cruise with some friends. Nothing crazy. I think the reason I'm having so many right now is probably because of having taken over the group leadership and all this waiting for Laura to get back to us I am thinking about cruising almost 24/7.

 

It's cool and rainy here. It has been like this for about 3 days now so I am ready for some sunshine.

I have still not heard anything from Laura. I'm getting pretty frustrated. I did however, email Johna at Crucon today. I wanted to check and see if Laura has contacted her about setting up the group cruise. I'm just a little concerned that somehow my request fro a group has fallen through the cracks somehow. I have also been following a couple of other group threads that are still waiting for approval from Laura and they had gone ahead and contacted Johna and were expecting to get prices from her at any time, BEFORE hearing from Laura. I just sent the email a few minutes ago so of course I haven't heard back but I will let everyone know as soon as I do.

I just read a post from Host Randy who is looking at a group cruise from New Orleans in Jan 2014. He just called today and has heard back with a $50 OBC and a cocktail party. He said he would have pricing in a day or two and that people would be pleased. His cruise is not nearly as attractive as ours sounds, but how did he get it so fast?
