Thanx Heidi for the info...cove balconys are of no interest to me. Now the next question is what is the difference between a B and a C balcony./ Looked on the Carnival site but couldn't find a B catagory.

 

Flick...take a look at this website...I use it all the time before I book a cabin. If you hover the arrow over a cabin it will give you the category. It is easy to read and even easier to flip between decks to see what is above or below. They already have Carnival Breeze deck plans.

Thanx for the quick answers to my questions. Looks to me like the "C" catagory balcony on Empress deck is the one we will want. My brother in law sent an email and indicated they are interested in joining us for this cruise. I'll be talking to Erin the first part of the week.

Heidi, our world keeps getting smaller and smaller...both Kay and I attended Illinois State although at the time (early 60's) it was still called Illinois State Normal University and only had a student population of 7500!

Good morning and happy Sunday!

 

It has gotten hot here. It hit 90 degrees yesterday and it's going to be warm today too. I got my flowers planted yesterday. I waited until early evening so it wasn't so hot while I worked outside.

 

My nephew is graduating from high school today. We can't go because there aren't enough tickets to go around but we'll go over to their house for a little party after. I won't be able to stay long because I have to work at 4:00 but Dave will be able to stay. It's his brother's son. He will be going away to college my sister in law wants me to go shopping with them soon since I just put 2 kids in college she thinks I'm an expert on what every college kid needs. I guess I really could be helpful. I remember when I was 1st getting Eric ready to go I was pretty clueless. I know a lot more now.

 

I still haven't gotten a chance to go back an look over insurances but I will do that today or tomorrow. One thing I did notice when I was looking before, it seems like there are more insurance policies out there that include the pre-existing conditions waiver but you don't have to buy it within a required time period so it can be purchased later. I just know that I need to do the research now in case I purchase a policy that DOES require that you purchase within a certain amount of time after booking. That's why I love insuremytrip because you can compare several policies side by side. I click on all the ones I think I want to compare and the 1st thing I do is go down and look to see if pre-existing conditions is included. If it's not, then I remove that one. A lot of the cheapest policies do not include the pre-existing conditions waiver.

Was a beautiful weekend in Door County for the bass tournament....

 

Went golfing and gambling and out for dinner last night but had to make it an early night to get up and be to work at 5am..... got to bed shortly after 10 so was a little tired today.... a nap was neccessary....

Bettie and I had a very nice day. We went to the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame. Saw a very nice exhibit of women and ranches in photos. The static display was also very nice. They have a special area for Dale Evans.

 

We had lunch at Red, Hot & Blue. Had some great BBQ.

 

Tomorrow starts he fifth week of the strike. I sure hope it's over soon. I'm ready to return to work.

We were away for the weekend. A second cousin of mine got married last year in Tobago, Trinidad. They just now got around to having a reception here in the states. We went to Eureka, CA for that...met up with Brian & Staci halfway there and traveled with them. It was lots of fun. Got to see the beautiful California coast and the Redwoods that are so impressive.

 

Heidi ~ I'm so glad the young man was found safe!!

 

We went ahead and bought the travel insurance offered by Crucon. Seemed like the easiest way to go.

 

Char ~ happy to hear you are trying to work out your schedule to go on this cruise! We MUST meet!! We feel like we know each other already!

Flick ~ glad to hear you are almost ready to book. Several of us are booked on Empress deck in Category C balcony. That deck is between 2 passenger decks, so it is nice a quiet without public areas above or below you.

Sue...we booked this morning...I called Erin at 6:00 a.m. CA time :eek: to catch her before she got busy...I use to do that with Johna too when I booked or had a question. So looks like we will finally meet...and I am really excited about that coz I feel like I know you and Heidi already too. :)

 

This will be all new ports for us...AND I am so excited to visit Florida so we will probably go a few days early...no telling when we will get back there again.

Hi Cupids...we are Char & Jim and cruised with Cupids I...tried to cruise with II & III but things happened that caused us to cancel the last two...third time is a charm. :D

 

Jim and I are retired and have three daughters and seven grandchildren...all girls except for one boy. You should see our house at Christmas...:eek:

 

Anyway...we are really looking forward to meeting all the newpids coz we LOVE newpids.

Talked to Erin today. Waiting for her to send over the confirmation and we'll be official. She did say that all of the 8C's allocated have been taken. We're booking an inside for now. May change when we make the full deposit.

 

A little about us, I'm Ed and my DW is Dale. We have 3 daughters and 1 grandson. I'm originally from the Chicago area and Dale is from NY. We've been living in Texas for 32 years though. Dale recently retired from a major shipping line and I work for a stevedore so I get to see ships every day.

We have 7 cruises together including Cupid's I. Didn't make II or III but are looking forward to IV. This will be all new ports for us including Miami for me.

I spent most of the morning comparing insurance coverage. Erin sent me info re insurance through CruCon, but probably not going to purchase that one. I found insurance through another company that is only about $10 more and the coverage limits are somewhat higher. Also, something different is that it is primary coverage not secondary like some of the others.

 

Our casino opened a week ago, even though I only work 2 blocks away, still haven't gone in. I wanted to go this past Sat. but my husband nixed that idea when I told him the weekend table limits were all min. $50 bets. They are saying that is supposed to change once they stop drawing the crowds.

Guess I need to get off the dime. Was waiting until we return from Illinois in two weeks bu I want an 8c also. Insurance is an issue because I have a pre-existing condition so in addition to deposit I have to pay up front on insurance. I'm only going to get evac policy because I live in Florida and will have no baggage or trip delay issues (I think).
