We won the Radisson on Priceline and I'm wondering if anyone has stayed there and can provide some input....how far away is it from the pier that Carnival leaves from? Are there any good restaurants within walking distance? Anyone have any feedback (good or bad). I appreciate any info that you can provide. Thanks. :D

I would also like to know of anyone's experiences with the Radisson. We will be staying pre-cruise one night and two nights post-cruise. Also "won" this on priceline.

I have stayed at the Marriott which is just down from the Radisson and there are many restaurants on this street. There is a Walgreen's a block and half up from the Marriott.

My sister lives a few blocks from this hotel so I haven't stayed there, but I do go to their casino and rooftop restaurant. It's an older hotel but I think it'll be fine. Be sure to check out their sports bar/restaurant on the top floor (which is only about the fourth floor).

Thanks so much for the response. :)

The Radisson is in Condado about two blocks from the Marriott Stellaris. There is a public bus stop to the right of the hotel that will take you to Old San Juan.........75 cents.....change only. Carnival uses the pier in Old San Juan and a taxi would be about $20 including luggage fees. It is an older property but certainly fine for a pre cruise stay. Lots of restaurants close by.....all types......all prices. Safe to walk everywhere at all hours.

For breakfast/lunch try Pinky's to the left of the hotel near Starbucks. We loved Jam Rum Bar about two blocks away.....$$$.....owned by the same owner of Marmalade in OSJ..........Orozco's to the right, closer to the Marriott was OK for local cuisine......nothing special......a better choice is Ropa Vieja but it is about a 20 minute walk to the right, past the Marriott and past La Concha Hotel....

We got an excellent deal on this hotel, debating whether to take it or pay premium to stay in Old San Juan. We are only staying 1 night pre-cruise, will probably arrive at the hotel late afternoon, and want to visit Barrachina in Old San Juan for dinner and shopping in OSJ the next morning.

Still debating...

For Carnival cruises it is good to stay in OSJ because the port is right across from the Sheraton, especially for only one night. We usually stay 4-6 nights pre cruise so we stay in Condado. From the Radisson, taxi fares back and forth to Barrachina & OSJ and again the next morning to the ship might offset the hotel price difference. The Sheraton is usually easy to get on Priceline or you can splurge and try El Convento.

That's true, when you factor in taxi's that could eat up any savings. I can book the Sheraton OSJ for about $200 a night plus taxes on easyclicktravel, but then have to pay a resort fee. Also we have 4 adults and 2 teens and I can't seem to book a room for 4 people at Sheraton through easyclicktravel so we would have to book 3 rooms. I think I priced it at about $700 plus resort fees, a little too steep but will try Priceline closer to our cruise date. Sheraton OSJ has a 2 night minimum if trying to book directly with them or through another carrier (except ECT).

Would love to stay at El Convento, but there again, it's at least $600 for either 2 or 3 rooms.

We did find The Cervantes and I was able to book a queen room and a queen suite for our party, cost is about $400 total, including the $25 per night resort fee. I need an elevator for my elderly parents, otherwise I would have even considered Da House for a pre-cruise night.

We won the Radisson last year at priceline and we liked the hotel very much. As we arrived very late and get up very early, we didnt had dinner but we had a nice breakfast on the highest floor.

They gave us a junior suite, so we had enough space to pack and re-pack our suitcases :-)))

In the bathroom there is enough space ( we stayed there just one night).

For one night you will like it!
