Any more crawlers wanting to join us for the FUN.................................

 

For those that aren't sure what is involved, here is an explanation

Each cabin has a deck of cards and as the crawlers arrive they pick a card and then host cabin writes down their pick on the scorecard.

The host cabin can also participate, and sometimes they decorate or offer up some refreshments of some sort...maybe something from their hometown.

At the end,we tally up the scorecards and find the winning hands.

There will be 1st place,70%, 2nd place,20% and 3rd place 10%...also a

"boobie" prize for the worst hand ;0)

Also if you would like to crawl without offering your room, then please let me know, so I have an idea of how many scorecards/cheatsheets to make up. Now don't be shy, because anyone can play even if you don't know how...that's what the cheatsheets are for !!!!!!

Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, Leila and I will not be joining you guys on the February 8th sailing! Our central air conditioning system went on the blitz and it's going to cost us quite a bit to replace. We are sure going to miss the fun times with our Malahini friends, that's for sure! Maybe we can catch up with you on a future cruise.

 

As it stands right now, we MAY be sailing on the Pride out of Baltimore in May. We just need to get the replacement air condition system in place before scheduling any cruises. Don't worry...we are not done cruising! Just a setback for now.

Well the upcoming cruises to look forward too could be Alaska Summer 2014, Conquest Super Bowl and Valentines 2015, and then .........possibly a Panama Canal cruise for summer 2015.... you know I can email you more details as they all become available.

We have done the Panama Canal twice, LA to Ft Lauderdale on Princess and Ft Lauderdale to LA on Celebrity. Without question they were the most interesting of all our 20 cruises to date in terms of historical interest. The second time was just as interesting as the first and we will do it again if the chance presents itself. I'm no travel agent but I would encourage anyone who hasn't done the entire Trans-Panama Canal cruise to do so if at all possible.

 

Most of the major cruise lines have pretty well abandoned West Coast cruises except for the Alaska stuff in the summer. Incidentally, we detest Alaska cruises. We get on a ship to become warmer and warmer as time goes by and not colder and colder in the miserable rain. It's happened to us twice - - never again! Not only that, the Alaska cruising geography is little different than that of our British Columbia inside passage coast.

 

The 11 and 12 day west Celebrity cruises are gone now and the same goes for any presence of Royal Caribbean. The others maintain a token presence but, for us at least, the Mexican Riviera is becoming a bit of a bore.

 

Complain, bellyache, bitch etc etc. I'll shut up now but not before asking how you and Austin enjoyed your most recent cruise, Amy?

I was the one who asked about the cabin crawl. I think that sounds like fun if others are interested. On other cruises I've been on, we've done a Wine Party at a host cabin and everyone brings a bottle of wine. What do you think?

Haven't been on in a while. Looked back to see when last post (June 19) and saw pages 25-38 are really jumbled up with 2,3,4 columns with posts compressed - does anyone else see that or could it be a Windows 8 thingy? Strange! I did find that Carnival added "snorkeling at The Baths" to the Tortola Excursions list. Still looking at other excursions, had a trip to Denver in July and to Portland, Oregon earlier this month for a niece's wedding that kept me busy on travel planning. We are also booked on Freedom next August 11-16 for a civic club convention. It's the 4th convention on Carnival and the first in 1998 was what got us hooked. Looking forward to reconnecting with "frequent floaters" from the February Dream gang and new friends as well.
