hubofhockey Posted August 7, 2012 #26 Share Posted August 7, 2012 JMHO, I live in Boston and wouldn't walk across the street for a free meal at Durgin Park! Food is horrible and the waitstaff strive to live up to their "reputation" as being smug and rude. Why go there? Agree. The Black Rose is a better tourist trap. A five to ten minute walk along the water is The Barking Crab, a more fun tourist trap.

Always check first with the Barking Crab to make sure they aren't shut down for sanitary violations. It's also a great place to see "Bros" hanging out in their natural habitat! It's also a great place to see "Bros" hanging out in their natural habitat! They actually haven't been shut down for a few years. That was 2008. They have cleaned up their act, so to speak. It's a fun place, but it's certainly crowded with tourists. If I were a tourist in Boston in the Fall, I'd probably go to the North End and then hit Mikes or Modern for dessert. But since this thread relates to the ultimate Boston tourist trap area of Quincy Market, I'd go to the Black Rose.
