Annual Travel Insurance

Recommended Posts

Travel Insurance Direct annual policy covers worldwide. :) I suppose we would only know how good they are when we have to make a claim. (Cross fingers) so far we haven't had to claim.:)

My son's friend was in a motorbike accident in Thailand - Chiang Mai. They were insured through TID - I had purchased the policy - and they were simply brilliant!

  • Claim acknowledged straightaway
  • TID provided an interpreter for the family in Australia to speak with the non-English surgeons (it was a nasty accident)
  • Operated on in Chiang Mai
  • Transferred by ambulance to Bangkok
  • More surgery in Bangkok
  • My son and their other friend (not actually listed on the Policy) transported to Bangkok and put up in a Hotel and provided with food
  • Friend eventually flown home to Australia business class
  • My son and other friend flown home on same flight in economy

Not one bill was sent to anyone.

I can highly recommend TID based on their claims.

I am sorry your son's friend had the accident, but I am glad to hear how TID handled the claim. (I was going to post the comment "That's good", until I realised it could be interpreted as meaning I thought the accident was good.:D)
