weissjaz Posted August 24, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 24, 2012 A 3 night cruise seems awfully short to get really dressed up. Can I get away with a very nice hawaiian shirt and slacks? Maybe I just won't eat in the MDR, but I also don't want to miss out on any special food or festivities.
cb at sea Posted August 24, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 24, 2012 Aside from the dress, there's really nothing "special" about formal night on the shorter cruises. (No lobster tail!) You really don't even have to avoid the MDR, if you don't want to....they won't turn you away.

On the 3-night Majesty you may very well be one of the more dressed up individuals in a Hawaiian shirt and pants. Go and have fun! :)
ZoeyVictoria Posted August 24, 2012 #4 Share Posted August 24, 2012 Next weekend on the Majesty, DH will be wearing a black polo and khaki Dockers. My tropical maxi dress ought to dress us up a bit as a couple. But on the 6-night Enchantment in a couple of weeks, he will have to deal with the tie and jacket. aloesch Posted August 24, 2012 #5 Share Posted August 24, 2012 I just got off the 3 night Monarch and can assure you you'll feel just fine in what you're planning. I went for a black skirt and dressy short sleeved blouse, my hubby did dress khakis and a button down and we were very comfortable. I did see a group of gentleman in tuxes who looked very sharp. But there were definitely people in the MDR in t-shirts/shorts/jeans/sandels etc.
weissjaz Posted August 24, 2012 Author #6 Share Posted August 24, 2012 Thanks! That is what I was hoping to hear. I can get more dressed up next year on our 7 day on the Oasis.
