The seas from NYC

The answer is that no one knows for sure. It might be calm, moderate or rough but I would say that anytime of the year.

This is why we always hope for the best and prepare for the worst by coming prepared with medication and in our case booking a mid ship cabin.

We have sailed to the Bahamas twice - once out of Fla. and once out of NYC. The trip from Fla. was in Dec. 2009. We had such rough weather even the crew was seasick. The trip from NYC was in May 2011 and was a much smoother sail. Like others have already said, it depends more on the weather than where you sail from. One thing to note, though, is we would not sail from NYC again. We live in NY so thought this would be better but we did not enjoy so much time at sea (2 days going out, 2 days coming back). In the future, we will fly to Fla. or elsewhere so we can and spend more time on the islands than at sea.

We sailed from NYC to the Bahamas in April and the seas were smooth as glass but like others have said you never know for sure.

Same here, we did two from Bayonne in June ... smooth as glass for the entirety of both cruises. Unreal.
