southernfocus Posted September 9, 2012 #1 Share Posted September 9, 2012 Is there any real advantage to booking a cruise while on a cruise? Do the offer specials or OBC? If anyone has done this I would love some information.
MikeM Posted September 9, 2012 #2 Share Posted September 9, 2012 If you are sure you will book another Carnival trip get a FCC. Book your future cruise when you get home and the buzz wears off! Just my opinion! So the answer in general is no on Carnival.
firefly333 Posted September 9, 2012 #3 Share Posted September 9, 2012 The benefit is the two friends and family vouchers. If you are only booking one cabin, no advantage. http://www.carnival.com/Funville/blogs/faqs/archive/2010/09/02/what-is-the-loyalty-and-cruise-vacation-program.aspx 1st Promotion/Offer• Guests who book will receive an on board credit up to $200.00* USD per stateroom. • The guest will also receive two vouchers they can give to Family and Friends to take advantage of the same on board credit given to the host booking. The part in red is the only advantage to booking onboard. Otherwise buy a FCC and bring it home to use.
dolphin1313 Posted September 9, 2012 #4 Share Posted September 9, 2012 I believe that you can buy a FCC for friends and/or relatives to use if you book a cruise on a cruise. Otherwise, there aren't any other benefits.

tk22 Posted September 9, 2012 #6 Share Posted September 9, 2012 Is there any real advantage to booking a cruise while on a cruise? Do the offer specials or OBC? If anyone has done this I would love some information. We booked while on a cruise and advantage was the onboard credit was applied without having to buy a FCC then having to file it to get onboard credit. Also, the two vouchers for family/friends have to be used/booked within 60 days. We knew for sure the date we wanted for our next cruise, so we booked it. firefly333 Posted September 9, 2012 #7 Share Posted September 9, 2012 The disadvantage to booking onboard is over and over its been proven the FCC reps onboard who book cruises, just dont know enough and never suffer the consequences of their mistakes. You are off the ship, and then discover there is a problem .. and have to deal with it. The fact that they never have to fix their problems means they keep making the same mistakes over and over and oblivous to their own lack of knowledge. I heard one telling folks that they could get price drops right up to sailing on alaska cruises, never once mentioning anything about ES. Later he said.. well he always books them ES (without really discussing the rules).
