Before we moved to the restaurant next door, we stopped for a minute to listen to the mariachi @ Plaza Maya.

P1820745-Copy.jpg

Mariachi is the best known form of folk music from Mexico. The name refers to the music, the musicians and the band that play it.

P1820747-Copy.jpg

Mariachi began as a regional folk style called “Son Jaliscience” in the center west of Mexico originally played only with

string instruments and musicians dressed in the white pants and shirts of peasant farmers.

Our next stop: a visit to Pancho's Backyard (during lunch, they have live Marimba music).

Delicious Mexican food and awesome Margaritas are served at the lush patio of

"one of Cozumel's most beautiful colonial buildings, amidst splashing fountains and tasteful decor."

P1820754-Copy.jpg

P1820758-Copy.jpg

Their principle: somewhere must be 5 o'clock and time for a special Margarita!

If you know the day's "magic" word, you receive a FREE sopaipia with a meal purchase!

Left our friends to enjoy a relaxing massage by the beach and headed for some ice-cream

P1820772-Copy.jpg

The beautiful island of Cozumel was launched as an international tourist destination more than 50 years ago,

when scuba divers and beach-goers discovered its crystal clear waters and its picturesque village by the sea - San Miguel.

Today, the island of COZUMEL has grown up, but at the heart, it's still the same Cozumel -

with friendly people, beautiful views and the blue waters of the Caribbean lapping at its shores.

Carnival's CONQUEST & MAGIC @ Puerta Maya, Cozumel (September 28, 2012)

P1820811-Copy.jpg

The island of COZUMEL was the sanctuary of the Mayan goddess of fertility, Ixchel, and it was a major destination for religious pilgrimages.

P1820813-Copy.jpg

The island of Cozumel is located about 11 miles (18 km) off the east coast of the Yucatan.

It is opposite to Playa del Carmen and it’s known as Mexico's window to the Caribbean.

Typically, Carnival's CONQUEST was the first ship to leave a Port of Call, so Cozumel was no exception that Friday evening!

Your pictures are very beautiful and I enjoyed most of them' date=' but I would hate to think that someone is taking my pictures while I'm sitting on my private balcony or while leaving the ship then posting them on a website. Unless you have permission to take and post some of those pictures, I don't think you should be posting pictures of your fellow cruisers without their knowledge.[/quote]

First of All when you are in Public out of doors you are free game to have your picture taken. Just like anyone else if you do not want your picture taken then stay indoors forever. Your pictures are the Best I have ever seen on any cruise critc Web reviews Hands Down. It would be different if you were taking pictures of people Naked Or having sex. But just people having a great time on their Vacations.. Nothing Wrong with that. Maybe people should just chill and next time they go on a cruise Never come out of thier Cabins.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way! I know people will always be in the backround of photos, but I do have a problem with zooming in on unsuspecting people and then posting their pictures on the internet. I am glad I was not on this sailing. It really creeps me out. And now these posts will probably disappear.

Can I ask why it creeps you out? I am not invalidating your feelings at all - I just wonder what it is that bothers people about their pic being posted?
