mexico8 Posted October 20, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 20, 2012 We are going on the Crown Princess and will have a $100 shareholder OBC and also $135 OBC from our web based agent. Can we use the OBC to pay for the daily tips (the $12.00 or so per day per person). If we cannot use the OBC for that, can we get the money back at the end of the cruise? Both of your OBCs are credits to your account from which they deduct any charges & you would not get any leftover OBC at the end of the cruise because they're complimentary & not purchased by you. You'll start with a $235 credit and everything charged to your folio will be deducted from that until it reaches $0 and starts accumulating a balance due. It doesn't matter whether the charge is your tip, tours, drinks, t-shirts, etc. The source of your credit matters only if you have so much credit at the end of the cruise you have some left over. I seriously doubt that'll be the case for you.
caribill Posted October 20, 2012 #4 Share Posted October 20, 2012 You'll start with a $235 credit and everything charged to your folio will be deducted from that until it reaches $0 and starts accumulating a balance due. The stockholder OBC will have 100% of it posted to one of your onboard accounts and 0% to the spouse's account. The TA's OBC may be divided up between the accounts depending how the TA wanted it done. If the charges from both of your accounts will go to the same charge card at the end of the voyage, then the two accounts will be combined at the end of the cruise. This means if there was some unused OBC on one account, it can be used up by the money owed on the other account.

I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere that the shareholder OBC cannot be applied to tips/gratuities. Please correct me if I'm wrong. :)

brandid82 Posted October 20, 2012 #8 Share Posted October 20, 2012 Yes, it does say that somewhere, BUT it works the way Pam said.:D I thought so... I looked it up on the Princess website and it directed me to http://phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix.zhtml?c=140690&p=irol-sharebenefit and a PDF file that says it cannot be used for casino credits/charges or gratuities. Good to know that they can actually be used for anything though. Thanks!
