RAYSAN11 Posted December 7, 2012 #1 Share Posted December 7, 2012 Good morning all. I am a Windstar virgin but I have travelled on several other cruise lines. Can someone please advise me about the cruise documents. Are these documents sent to you by mail or e-mail or do you have to print them out on line. Thank you very much in advance for your responses. Love.II.Cruise Posted December 7, 2012 #2 Share Posted December 7, 2012 Good morning all. I am a Windstar virgin but I have travelled on several other cruise lines. Can someone please advise me about the cruise documents. Are these documents sent to you by mail or e-mail or do you have to print them out on line. Thank you very much in advance for your responses. We are sailing in Jan and are Windstar virgins... so far we haven't gotten any travel documents. If no one answers your question, I'll try to let you know when and how we get ours. 6rugrats Posted December 7, 2012 #3 Share Posted December 7, 2012 Windstar also introduced an e-Sail Docs program which delivers cruise documents to guests electronically instead of on paper. e-Sail Docs include the same information as traditional paper documents; however, they are delivered as a PDF file through email. Additionally, biodegradable, environmentally friendly cleaning supplies are used which balance efficiency and minimize environmental impact. You used to always receive them in the mail, in a nice blue pouch. You can always call Guest Services and ask them: 877.588.8922
RAYSAN11 Posted December 7, 2012 Author #4 Share Posted December 7, 2012 Thanks very much for both of your responses. Just one more question, how far in advance of the cruise is the email sent
stcruise Posted December 7, 2012 #5 Share Posted December 7, 2012 We received our documents via email on 12/22/2011 for our 2/9/2012 cruise - so approximately seven (7) weeks prior to our cruise. Not sure if this is the standard amount of time. If you are concerned, I would call Guest Services as suggested. In my experience they have always been pleasant and helpful. sportsjunkie66 Posted December 7, 2012 #6 Share Posted December 7, 2012 I have not cruised on Windstar yet but the other day when I paid for my cruise in March, I was given the choice of email or mailed documents. They said it would be sent about 10 days before the cruise. I will be interested to see how they handle the documents.
r&rd Posted December 8, 2012 #7 Share Posted December 8, 2012 We have signed up for e-docs for past cruises but our travel agent always requests paper docs - we got our December 27 cruise docs in early November.
teachinla Posted December 8, 2012 #8 Share Posted December 8, 2012 We sailed on Windstar in July for the first time. I had to call and request the documents to be emailed because I did not receive them. They were sent while I was still on the phone with the representative.
