soccersharon Posted December 10, 2012 #1 Share Posted December 10, 2012 Received my first "upsell" call earlier today. The offer was to go from an 8E Lido balcony for 4 to a Grand Suite, Empress Deck, mid-ship for $740+ dollars. I didn't take it. We're very happy to have a cabin close to the fun and food. Thoughts - ya or nay?

TakeMeAway1001 Posted December 11, 2012 #7 Share Posted December 11, 2012 We had a Lido balcony on our last Liberty cruise and booked another for this coming May, it was so convenient and has become our favorite location. I wish every ship had Lido cabins :) Please let us know all about your cruise when you get back~

golfadj Posted December 11, 2012 #9 Share Posted December 11, 2012 I would have probably gone for the upsell. Would love to try a grand suite and for that money would have splurged.

SMSACE6 Posted December 11, 2012 #11 Share Posted December 11, 2012 NAY! Im an old gal, but Im still learning, and what I now know, is that given Carnival suites dont give you any perks except maybe a VIP checkin lounge, then as I see it, you are really only getting a bigger room, with a few more closets bigger window, and a tub, etc. If it was a cruiseline who offered some perks with their suites, as in concierge, butler service and a private sun deck, patio etc with an exclusive club for snacks and food and comped liquor, then would be more prone to consider it, depending on cost. Nay on Carnival, but Yay on....................

For $400, I probably would have gone for it :) Budget wouldn't allow it. But it was VERY tempting. Maybe next time! ETA: we're visiting 4 ports - not much time to enjoy the extra space anyway.
