How much is it per person per day?

To simplify the tipping process for our passengers, a discretionary gratuity of $12 per person for mini-suites and suites, and $11.50 per passenger in all other staterooms per day (including children) will be automatically added to your shipboard account on a daily basis. This gratuity will be shared amongst those staff who help provide and support your cruise experience, including all waitstaff, stateroom stewards, buffet stewards, and housekeeping staff across the fleet. For your convenience, this gratuity can be pre-paid before you sail by calling 1-800 PRINCESS and referencing Special Services item number 0597.

As an FYI, you are NOT actually pre-paying the Gratuity. You are sending yourself an onboard credit for the amount of what the Gratuity would be. When you board, there will be a credit on your folio and the daily charge will be applied.

Clever move. We relied on the Purser's desk for a supply of 1's for tipping but they ran out. We then used the Casino and they ran out. We should mention that we were on the Amazon and stops along the way call for a lot of 1's for children, etc., so we could see the problem. We pleaded with the staff to change the 1's for larger denominations and when they understood that there was to be no more tipping if there were no more 1's, the George Washington's came out readily thereafter..

We do this too. We have a jar in our kitchen that we throw dollar bills into between cruises and then have them ready for our next adventure.

I too have run out. Talk to the bar staff. They will be glad to change a ten or twenty into the ones that they have accumulated. Afterall, they know that they are likely to get it back. I do it all the time both on the ship and at AI's we have been to.
