5:00 flight our of Genoa -what to do all day?

We have a 5:00 flight out of Genoa the day we get off of our cruise. I called the cruise line, and unfortunately they do not offer any disembarkation excursions, luggage storage, or the wonderful service that Celebrity has where they send your luggage to the airport for you. We are a family of 5, so will have lots of luggage.

 

We do not relish the idea of toting our luggage around with us all day or spending the day hanging out at the airport. Any suggestions on what to do?

 

I was thinking of maybe hiring a private guide with a vehicle large enough for us and our luggage, so we could do some sight seeing.

Doing a private tour is an excellent thing to do.

I'd look into booking a hotel room for the day. That way, I'd have luggage storage and be able to wander around Genoa as long as I wanted to. AND, I would have a place to freshen up before I head to the airport. The hotel room for one day would most likely cost less than the cost of renting car or doing a private tour...
