I know there is a lot of questions but any help is welcomed. This is my first time on NCL Ive taken a few other lines and tried to doing some research but I seem not to find any of these answers.

I have booked a penthouse aft penthouse on the corner of the 8th floor on the pearl. There will be 3 adults in this room, I know its smaller but we just wanted to try a suite and it was cheap. Now im worried i should of got a different room. I wanted to find out if someone stayed in this room before and if they have pictures and how did you like it?. And also if the couch bed is comfortable? And can you get a pad to put on top? We will be sailing to Alaska departing from Vancouver, BC and I like to know what time do they start boarding? And are there a good amount of day activities on this boat? And lastly I am allergic/don’t eat some food items, when I did the online registering I didn’t see a way to put in what type dietary choices there are. Do you know how I can let them know what items I cannot eat?

On the dietary needs - you can e-mail AccessDesk@ncl.com and they will send you a form to complete. It's very comprehensive and they definitely are very good at communications on that.

I haven't been on the Pearl so I can't help out on the other questions....sorry.

Happy Cruising! :)

Thanks! i will try this out.

I have been in aft penthouses on Jewel Gem and Jade, they are all similar. You don't say whether you are a couple and a friend or what the 3 people make up is. I think it will be a little tight and yes you can get an egg topper for the sofa bed. I wouldn't worry about daily activities. Alaska is port intensive and you will be busy during the day. I also don't know your age, that would also be a factor, as far as how much you want to do and how much nite life you want. I think we need more info on your group. I have to say the aft view is amazing I seem to become mesmerized by it. I could sit for hours watching the wake and the view. I will say I hope you are all very friendly because sharing that space and bathroom is going to be a little bit of a challenge.

Have not been on deck 8 - I was in 10166 last summer. The suite is fine for three people as long as two are a couple and can sleep in the large bed. The sofa bed is OK my MIL slept there and did not complain at all. - She also sat there on our sea days. I have heard that the balcony is smaller on deck 8 and there might be some noise from the Bliss Lounge - but maybe not in AK due to the slightly older crowd.:D

Being on the first trip of the season, be prepared for a crew who is just getting used to the routine of AK.

Thanks everyone that responded and thanks for pictures also.

It will be my mom (65), cousin(26) and myself(31). We cruised Alaska before and was thinking more of just relaxing and not rushing to every event on ship and running around at the ports. My mom is fine with anything as long as she can go to the casino and I like to have some night life and I thought this might be a good one to try. It seems like it will fit us all. And if not I can roam around the ship until im tired.

You will find plenty to do! I think you are going to love your suite. And you won't have any problems with dietary needs after writing access desk!

Ask for the foam topper as soon as you meet your butler or room steward. I have heard some folks need two, it just depends, but it won't be a problem.

Have a wonderful cruise!

I usually arrive between 10:30 and 11:00, get through security, meet the concierge in the VIP lounge (after checking in at the main desk, VIP line) and wait a bit for an escort onto the ship. Sometimes directly to the suite, sometimes to Cagney's for a lovely lunch.

Bon Voyage!

I wouldn't worry at all. You made a good choice in picking a room. The AFT view in Alaska will be great!! I'd rather be sharing the room you picked than a regular balcony room. You'll have plenty of room. I stayed in an AFT penthouse in the corner on the Jewel and I would do it again in a heartbeat!! Enjoy your cruise
