Fighterone Posted April 13, 2013 #26 Share Posted April 13, 2013 I agree. The move to the Bahamas has 2.0 all over it. Sure hopeful! It'll make our New Year's cruise even better! Hope so for those cruising on it when she returns but wouldn't Carnival mention the 2.0 addition ?
kybluecruiser Posted April 13, 2013 #27 Share Posted April 13, 2013 Seriously, this boat is probably insured for more than its worth. Why don't they just sink the damn thing or sell it for scrap and cut their losses? This is turning into a PR nightmare for Carnival... Total nonsense, Lloyd's wouldn't pay for nothing being wrong structurally with her. Love how people just like to stir the pot.
cruzegurl104 Posted April 13, 2013 #28 Share Posted April 13, 2013 Triumph has bad mojo, I'm convinced. Too much negativity surrounding her, I too think Carnival should move on.. I sailed on her in 2008, and she was definitely tired then. It'll take some major MAJOR refurb to make it right. Just my opinion,, for what it's worth;)
Chathamite Posted April 13, 2013 #29 Share Posted April 13, 2013 Maybe dry dock availability is the reason for the move to Freeport then? Total nonsense, Lloyd's wouldn't pay for nothing being wrong structurally with her. Love how people just like to stir the pot. I have known plenty of "structurally sound" vessels written off because they were burdens on their owners... Here in Canada we had a $13 million ferry that served three seasons before she sat and turned to rust and finally cut up. The Nindawayma.
waldocruiser1 Posted April 14, 2013 #30 Share Posted April 14, 2013 Drydock. Oh, I was going to say cheaper labor! and looser safety standards
waldocruiser1 Posted April 14, 2013 #31 Share Posted April 14, 2013 I doubt dry-docks sit around empty, waiting for walk-ins.. . you mean there is not an "urgent care dry dock"
luv cruising 007 Posted April 14, 2013 #32 Share Posted April 14, 2013 you mean there is not an "urgent care dry dock" I always love your whitty comments! almost spit out my coffee reading "urgent care dry dock":D:D:D:D:D Or is Freeport a "specialist" dry dock in insurance terms ;) sorry I had to go there! jonbgd Posted April 14, 2013 #33 Share Posted April 14, 2013 I doubt dry-docks sit around empty, waiting for walk-ins.. . Or like Carnival keeps extra ships on call in case of emergencies
LHP Posted April 14, 2013 #34 Share Posted April 14, 2013 They still have a month and a half before it has to be ready..... they have done drydocks in Freeport in less time than that.
