Welcome home call / RCCL certified vacation specialist...

Recommended Posts

We've been home from our Freedom cruise for about a month now. This was cruise #3 for our family. I just received a phone call from RCCL - it was the basic welcome home, hope your cruise was great.... and then told that I had a cruise vacation specialist assigned to me now. I can call him directly to plan my next cruise and he has access to "all the information" I would need.

Anyone had these calls? I was told it was something new RCCL is doing. I got an email after, with his contact info and a generic "lots of great cruises happening" blurb.

Super nice guy, he got a kick out of my email address...gave him a good laugh!

I periodically get an e-mail from RCI telling me that so and so is now my cruise vacation specialist. I just ignore it. If I need to talk to someone I just call the C&A phone number and talk to whom ever answers the phone. If I wanted a specific person and had to call, leave a number, and wait for a call back then I would consider just going back to using a TA.

Thanks for the replies! I have always just booked on line. I've had to reschedule a cruise once due to my husbands work, and one cruise changed rooms...so I have called, but this is the first I've heard of having someone assigned to me. Must be a good way to try to drum up more business.

I now have 3 emails from my specialist ... each one says the exact same thing, but he is either Carlos or Karlos "Karl" depending on which email I read!!

This has been my experience as well.

I put a courtesy hold on a cabin that I let expire, since I've just been too busy getting ready for my cruise this Sunday. The day after it expired, I got a call from one of these specialists. I told her I was going to actually just book it, but not until I got back, which is when she started going on about how she was there to help me out, find the best deal, etc. Since this is to be my first RCCL cruise, I don't have the option of C&A, so I was curious as to if it was worth it to book through her vs online as I had done before with the hold.

Me too. I don't want a specific person to speak to at RCI - that's why I no longer use a TA. I just call RCI whenever I want and speak to whomever answers the phone. If I am not happy with them, I polite end the call, and then call back and speak with someone else.

We love our personal cruise planner, julian. He knows our preferances, always mentions the latest news and is there representing us when there is a price change with an easy phone call. Always eager to help with questions and his knowledge of how to resolve anything. Find one you like and stick with them. To me, it is equivalent to having your own waiter every night....similiar scenario. Vicki

I am still waiting for any RCL email. Used to get them and they stopped. Some how we are off their promotion etc list??? Called rcl and sent them an email about it, still waiting..... Takes weeks to get back onto their mail out list I was told. Poor business I think. D+, 30+ cruises with RCL, think it would be automatic.

Ditto to this Ocean Boy..however I would/will continue to keep booking my own cruises...no TA for me.

Agree..although DH gets them and snail mail addressed to him...and I'm the "primary" when it comes to RCI....So go figure
