ShotoJuku’s LEGENDary Mediterranean Adventure

Recommended Posts

OK, here's just a couple more including something that buzzed the bell tower at incredible speed; I still have no idea what it was?

It's the reconnaissance drone from Dan Brown's "Inferno". JK!

But if you're a Dan Brown fan, this book is a fun read, especially after being in Florence and Venice recently. You'll identify with alot of the places he mentions.

What a coincidence, I see the singer in the background, Doug Trask, we got to know him on a couple of our Spirit cruises and still keep in touch. He was on the Spirit in the casino bar for many years (almost 10), before it moved to Australia.

I was gonna say...

Wasn't that musician on the Spirit in Alaska, 2011? He looks awfully familiar.....

Fun Day At Sea #1

Generally speaking although this was a sea day and we usually take our fare share of pictures through the day for some reason or another we only too a few. This cruise was also unlike the standard Caribbean cruises insofar as this was more of a touring adventure rather than a tropical getaway.

Thanks again for the review and all the pics. I'm wondering if you took a lot of Euros and other local currency with you or if you used local ATMs or the ones on the ship? I'm just getting ready to order some Euros and I'm not really sure where to start.

Thanks!

Thanks - more are on the way!

I took about 3000 Euro (from Bank of America) with me and brought back more than half. Most of what I spent was on the cost of the excursions themselves.

Yes, I was thinking I would start with what I know are our excursion costs and then add a little padding. Did you tend to use cash or a card for expenditures in ports, ie. shopping?

I only used cash (Euro) the entire time when out of the USA as I did not wish to incur any overseas credit card fees.

Did you prepay for your excursions ?

I only "prepaid" two (Greece & Turkey) with a reservation fee paying the balance (Euros) on/after the excursion. All four RomInLimo excursions were also paid (Euro) on/afterwards too. I did prepay for some museum tickets in advance however.

Thanks for posting all of these pictures.

I spent a month in Italy...and I'm glad someone has the same enthusiasm that I still have. :)

Thanks! I'll be posting one last batch of Greece pics shortly (today) and then the remaining ports of call, including four in Italy, in the upcoming "Back <---To The Photos" series.

Ciao!
