UPDATED List of Current Cruise Directors (CD)

Navigator OTS has 2 cruises just after drydock, but before Feb 16. A short 4 nighter on Feb 5 followed by a 7 day cruise on Feb 9 (which we are booked on - YAY!). Maybe the passengers can take turns being cruise director for 15 minutes each. :)

Any idea when we might be able to find out who will be the CD on Freedom after Richard leaves to go to Anthem? Oh how I would love for Graham Seymore to return but I know that is VERY unlikely.

Then, Joff Eaton will take over as regular CD of this ship (waiting for official announcement to confirm).

 

Brilliance OTS - Steve Davis July 27 through November 23, then Clo O'Connor November 23 until Steve Davis returns from his break in February

Then Leigh (CD) and Erky (AM) will be returning from their break on April 5, 2014 for approx. 4 months, followed by the Blairs for approx 2 months. (Erky will not be returning, as he plans to marry and work as a commercial airline pilot in Turkey.)

We are on Radiance at the moment and just wanted to report back that Amy Fickert is great - she is a very visible, fun cruise director. Very natural style and not an in your face kind of way.

Probably not Joff. He has indicated that he will be on the ship until Sept 2014. He's been doing regular rotations of 4 months on followed by a 2 month break, so his break should start at the end of Sept and continue until the end of Nov.

 

The person filling in as CD during Joff's breaks varies, and isn't usually known until much closer to the handover date (like when Joff has 6 weeks remaining before his break)

He was on Oasis September 14 until November 16. Now he is on his break.

 

He was thought to be going to Navigator when the ship returns from drydock Feb. However, Simona has confirmed that she will be on Navigator but not until Feb 16. So it is still not very clear what's going on. Has Dave been reassigned? Or, will he fill in for the first two weeks on NV between its return from drydock and Simona's start date?

 

As soon as I have clearer info, I will update the list.

 

If you are on Navigator today, as your countdown clock indicates, maybe you can find out reliable info directly from the current CD/activities staff.

Donna...my husband Phil (Greyt Dog on CC) is a guest speaker on cruise ships, on several cruise lines. We're considering the Enchantment cruise on Dec 13th just for fun. In trying to see who the cruise director was, we came upon your post. We're curious how you are able to find out who the CD's are, as there are times this would be helpful info when Phil is working. We generally don't find out until we get onboard. Since you have this info for RCCL, is there a chance you would be able to access CD info for Princess? I don't have access to any official information regarding cruise directors. In fact, CD info that comes directly from RCI is notoriously inaccurate, so I purposely do not seek it out or use it to update this list.

 

This list is compiled from information that other cruisers report to this thread, and is purely anecdotal. Some of those cruisers speak to CDs or their staff while onboard the ship, some cruisers are in touch with CD's either through personal connections or on social media, and one CD actually posts his schedule to this thread himself.

 

Really, I only put all the info together like a puzzle to keep the list updated with the most current info possible. I generally only use info coming directly from the CD or his staff to update the list because that is the most accurate source.

 

I have no interest in compiling a list for Princess, but perhaps someone on the Princess board can do that. I know that there are people like me on Celebrity and other boards who do the same as I do here.

Hmmm...John Blair said that he is signing off on the 5th. If Leigh isn't coming on until the 10th, then the 5 day sailing to Bermuda which begins on April 5th is unaccounted for.

 

BTW - what did you think of Leigh? He is my favorite CD (even better than Richard!)
