Victoria at Night

Recommended Posts

Hi....I will have about 6 hours in Victoria (6pm-12). I have already been to the gardens. Any suggestions on what to do since it will mostly be dark? My traveling companion and I are 53 and 63.

Thank you

Victoria is a great city. My DW and I were there a few years ago for a long weekend and here are a few things I'd recommend.

Ghost Walk http://www.discoverthepast.com/gwalks.htm

Kind of hokey but an interesting take on the city.

Take a water bus to Spinnakers Brew Pub http://www.spinnakers.com/gastro-brewpub

Half the fun is taking the little water bus. The Pub is also very nice with some excellent micro brews.

Have dinner and/or drinks at the Fairmont Empress http://www.fairmont.com/empress-victoria/dining/theveranda/

Lastly, you might want to see if they have any evening whale watching tours. I think one of the companies does one that starts at 6:00 or 6:30 PM.

We were Just in Victoria the end of May. It is a fun place to just walk around. Lights on the Empress Hotel and Parliament Buildings are very pretty. We also enjoyed walking in the neighborhoods seeing the beautiful Victorian Houses. Enjoy a nice dinner in one of the many restaurants.

We were not docked close into the city so we didn't have the time to walk. There were plenty of shuttles, taxis horse drawn carriages and pedi cabs to choose from. There were frequent shuttles that ran back and forth to the center of the city. Also be prepared that many cruises are delayed getting into port so it can be later when you disembark. Have a good time.:)

All of downtown Victoria is very walkable even from the ship. The shuttle service this year is $10 pp rtn. A cab will also run about $10 each way. Our Legislature Buildings illuminated at night are a pretty sight and the buskers on the esplanade in front of the Empress hotel are entertaining. You may also care to take a horse drawn carriage ride.... there are two services:
