How to cruise with another couple?

The dry erase boards are a new idea on this thread -- did you attach them to the outside of your cabin doors? And did the pens stay with the boards or did you find they "disappeared?" Did you have strangers writing on your boards, or changing what was written?

We often cruise with friends and family and we have been using dry erase boards or magnets with clips for written notes for years. One good use with multiple cabins is a simple sign that say UP so others can know whether or not to knock in the AM. DH goes very early so our note often says Where he is having breakfast and sometimes the time he left. Like WJ 6:30. Simple but effective.

We also leave little notes about locations or activities (sometimes, ). My friend is a solo cruiser who usually takes different excursions and she will stop by and simply write I am back so we know she is back on board.

No trouble with pens disappearing or notes being changed but we OFTEN got art work from other passengers, usually pretty good pic of ship or palm trees etc. Now we use the magnet clips mostly with clean sheets of paper on the outer door. No need to buy a new board for a new cruiser, cheaper and you don't have to leave a pen out.

We also choose an area on the pool deck where we usually hang out so folks can look for us in that area or near that bar.

We always schedule dinner together but it is okay for anyone to do something else.

Just had to add this! A couple of years ago on our first Oasis cruise we were in the last aft Boardwalk balcony on one side, and our travel friends were in the last on the OTHER side! So basically we were looking at each other's balconies over the boardwalk. We used to tape a piece of paper to our balcony door saying where we were going to be! That way we did not phone and wake anyone up. Easy to read, and saved us all long walks! :D
