Jeafl Posted July 24, 2013 #76 Share Posted July 24, 2013 That's really disappointing about Nachi Cocum. We were planning on going there next March, but now I am second guessing myself. That's the first I've heard of a sulphur smell. Loving your review so far--keep it coming!

We were planning on going there next March, but now I am second guessing myself. That's the first I've heard of a sulphur smell. Loving your review so far--keep it coming! I never heard about the sulphur smell either. Sorry i wrote sulfa because that is the medicine im allergic to but i am allergic to it all. I cant drink wine without getting a headache either! I am trying to research it. It could be something new or the time of the year or maybe because im sensitive to it i noticed it more than others. Same thing happened on the part of 7 mile beach i was on in grand cayman. Other ppl who went to a different part didnt smell anything. Ill get more into that later though. It was worse than cozumel to the point that when we got back to our cabin, our bathing suits stunk the whole room up!

ly26 Posted July 25, 2013 #89 Share Posted July 25, 2013 I guess anything thats not wendys, mcdonalds, olive garden....just a normal restaurant. I visit mooresville quite often and i shop at BJs in concord as well as concord mills. I will travel anywhere for a good meal. ;) Hi. Another Charlotte dweller near northlake. We have a few regular places we like. Chinese - House of Taipei exit 25 up I-77 Mexican - Fiesta Maya off Harris Blvd on David Cox Rd Italian - Amalfi's off Harris Blvd on University City Blvd near Harris Teeter Lynn
Counsel Posted July 25, 2013 #90 Share Posted July 25, 2013 ... we did this itinerary on the Liberty last February. It was our 3rd time at Nachi Cocum. We LOVE that place!:) I have never experienced bad smells there (other than the bathroom). :D Hopefully it was a 1 time occurance. bonnys Posted July 25, 2013 #91 Share Posted July 25, 2013 I live by northlake mall. One place after the other is fast food. Can you suggest any restaurants in Charlotte? I would appreciate it! :D WOW, it is a small world! I live 7 minutes from Northlake Mall. If you go up 77 north to exit 28 there are some great choices in Birkdale. Also, there is PF Chang's, The Olive Garden, TGI Friday's, Firebird's, and Bravo right at the mall. That is just a start.:p I can go on and on for just about every part of the city. Lot's of great choices!
bonnys Posted July 25, 2013 #92 Share Posted July 25, 2013 Try Mac's Speed Shop in Lake Norman. They have good food and live music every once in awhile. We go there about once a month to see a friend of ours from Atlanta sing. If you like BBQ, try Lancaster's in Mooreseville. It's not easy to find (up and over the hill behind the Bojangles) but it's great food. Downtown Concord has a few restaurants in the Historic area. I've not had a chance to try them yet, but several of my friends have and really like them. There is even a Cuban Cafe that is supposed to be about as close to the real thing as you can get without being in Cuba or in Florida. Downtown Kannapolis is getting some good restaurants with the expansion of the Research Campus. I'll keep thinking and see what I can remember on this side of Charlotte. There is a Lancaster's less than 10 minutes from Northlake.
RWA Cruisers Posted July 25, 2013 #93 Share Posted July 25, 2013 Love the pics and loveeee cuban food. Wife and I are cruising on my birthday (12/8/13) and hitting key west. Wish they had cuban restaurants there. There is some AMAZING Cuban food in Key West! For a quick fix as soon as you get off the ship, check out El Meson De Pepe. Sit at the outdoor bar, listen to the live band, have a cold drink and enjoy the "Cuban nachos" made with fried plantains. They are incredible. (Edit: It just occurred to me that the band probably won't be playing in the morning when you arrive.) They also have a full restaurant there as well, but we always sat oudoors at the bar and enjoyed their Tapas style menu. Lots of great Cuban food. If you're looking for something more traditional, look for El Siboney. It's not on Duval St so you might need to take a taxi to get there, but I can't imagine you will find better Cuban food than this restaurant. You know it's great when there's very little talking because everyone is too busy eating! lol
