After twice on the Dream and one on Spirit and two on the good ship Celebration

one which was 11 days this year (Portraits of the past ) loved them all !!

Last one the best ! :)

Alas we have been thinking of another holiday ! But perhaps not a cruise :eek:

Go on then “make your mind up” (she was guest speaker on Portraits )

Pros and cons :cruising is brill good entertainment,staff superb, wake up in a different port every day etc then …all the add ons :confused:

Then I also thought about sunbeds, soot ,…..extras even on AI :(

So thought would try a land based beach holiday again for a change

A cruise and stay would have been good but our funds would not stretch that far with this being our second holiday

So we are off to Agadir in 5* AI Riu end September new hotel on the beach (private) promenade walk to marina

(done the research highly rated )

(no extras on AI local and international drinks , mini bar restocked daily included)

No safe charge

4 restaurants 3 big pools one indoor

And we need not spend a penny unless going on a tour

Well will try and compare on return, will probably miss the entertainment and different ports of call AND the staff /crew on the cruises

But for just 7 days will be a chill out ,will let you know if we miss the life at sea this trip

I am sure that you will have a great time; Agadir is a super destination.

 

We are great fans of Riu hotels - we have booked one over Christmas on A.I. basis and it really does mean ALL Inclusive. Would have booked a Riu for our week in Majorca following our cruise on the ´Dream´ in October if one had been available - they only do Playa de Palma in November which isn´t for us I´m afraid so have had to go for a Sol Melia instead.

 

Enjoy! Bet you´ll want to do a Cruise + Stay next year to get the best of both worlds LOL!

I have stayed in quite a few RIU hotels in different countries. I used to be Gold Member but now down to red due to taking cruises instead.

 

I was in Agadir on a Canary Island cruise in April and walked along the promenade as far as the RIU hotels hoping to have a look around for future reference. However, there was a man on the beach side gate preventing non residents from entering. It looks very smart and as it is a Palace hotel you should have all the Premier drinks on AI but make sure you ask for them or you will get the "Chinese" ones. I would definitely give it a go for a 7 day chill out.

 

Don't expect too much from the entertainment though. In most of the RIU hotels we have been to the 'singers' are really very good dancers and mime the songs. DH could not believe that the Majesty singers were singing 'live' on our first cruise.

will report back on return from land based holiday

ps did anyone watch the last episode on the FO round the world cruise

 

have to hold my hand up on this last one there were tears in my eyes :o

 

skipped a lot of the series but this was very good me thinks

 

how many months away ? :cool:
