K-Roo-Zers Posted August 22, 2013 #26 Share Posted August 22, 2013 Hi All, Greetings from the Sun Princess,. We are still awaiting flights to travel home from Singapore. Yes, the electrical fault was huge and it is a massive job trying to organise it all. We are lucky and happy as we have a cabin, but tempers are very hot. Thank goodness it happened when it did and not at sea. No internet on board so we are at the terminal using two fingers. Will report when we finally get home. NSWP Posted August 23, 2013 #30 Share Posted August 23, 2013 Nicki, Thanks for the update, a tough time had by all, sounds like the Princess Incident Response Plans need an urgent review. Not handled well at all. Good luck.
Kiwi Kruzer Posted August 23, 2013 #31 Share Posted August 23, 2013 Up until very recently Singapore has just been a port of call stop for Princess, but now has/ is becoming a major turnaround port. They have opened a full time office there this year , but it sounds like the shore staff still need a lot more training and practice with handling turnarounds and how to cope when things do not go according to plan. We had a shocking embarkation in Singapore one year. That was at the container terminal and we had to report to a hall in the City. Unfortunately it clashed with the Singapore Marathon and the area was roped off and passengers were blocked from getting in. It was a shambles.....but it all worked out .....at least Diamond Princess did sail away.
