Prettiest water/beach?

We will be in Cozumel in early September. Looking for the prettiest spot with clear blue/green water and nice beach. We just want a nice, quiet spot to read, enjoy the view and are not big drinkers. I have looked at Nachi Cocom, Passion Island and Mr. Sanchos. Not sure what to pick or there may be another spot. Any recommendations?

Take a look at Alberts or Playa Palancar. Alberts has a website. PP shows up nicely in the Youtube below. Both are a little further south of Mr Sanchos, et.al. Less crowded, especially less children, with good food and drink.

A note on the water. The westside beaches are on a channel between the mainland and Cozumel. At times the water can be a bit murky, depending on the weather.

If the weather is nice and you're willing to head up the east side, have the taxi take you to Punta Morena. It's up closer to the transveral road. May or may not be able to swim there as the east side faces the Caribbean sea and gets the predominate winds. But they do have loungers, a pool and good food. Will be very quiet unless the Bar Hop Bus is touring (then busier for only a short time).

The beach clubs are all in a row, right next to each other on the same stretch of beach, so the water will be almost identical.

Like someone already stated. The shore at Money Bar and Chankanaab closer to the piers, is rockier, so less sand to stir up when the water gets rougher.

Been to nachi cocum 4 times and have yet to see murky water on any trip.

I would choose whether I want to snorkel or not (if you do, then Money Bar or Chankanaab) and if not, then choose the beach club that suits your groups needs best.

Dont know what cruise line you are on, but if it's Carnival you can walk to El Cid, and yes they have a web site, and yes they have beautiful water, and yes they have a day pass. We are not drinkers, we get a day pass for 18.00 this includes use of the beach, the snorkeling area, the hot tub and the pool. And it includes a 10.00 food voucher. We ate well for 10 bucks each, but plan on taking more money so that we can try more food. We ordered quesadilla and tamales, but we can get that at home, so next time we want to try something a bit more. We had a great day there last September, and plan on being there again in January. There is a sandy area in front of the snorkeling area, but you go down some stairs to get in the water. There is a true beach (very small) on the other side of the restaurant. We just walked to El Cid, had a short tour, and fell into the pool to cool off. A great day!

I have it narrowed down to Passion Island or Nachi Cocom. I am leaning toward Nachi because of the 100 person minimum. However, if the Corona commercial beach is really only found on Passion Island I will go there. Is the beach and water really alot prettier on Passion Island than Nachi?

You mention that Sanchos/Paradise/Nachi are right next to each other. Are they so close together that we could split time between 2? I only ask because we want to paddleboard and the only place to do that is Paradise Beach but the swim up bar and other things about Sanchos appeal to me as well. Just wondering if we could hit Paradise first thing to get the paddleboarding done then walk to Sanchos for the biggest part of our day.

In theory you can. But you'll have to walk past Playa Mia and an open access area, About a mile-mile and a quarter (2 klicks) walk between. Not literally next door to each other. I think the swimup bar at Mr Sanchos is for the A.I. folks, but I could be wrong.

Don't let the number of people be your deciding factor. From what I have read, there are not that many people on Passion Island either as they don't make it very easy to get there. I have an upcoming trip to Passion Island and there are only two cruise ships in port that day. Both have excursions to Passion Island but the two ships have opposite schedules. Our ship is in port in the morning and the other ship doesn't come in until afternoon. I think there is a limit on how many people can book the ships' excursion as well.

The trip to Passion Island use to be able to be "booked" by independent tour operators which would have brought more people there but now it is only offered by cruise lines. Bottom line, that means less people.

I have been to Nachi and it is nice (I really liked the pool) but the beach area is just like all the other beach front beach bars on either side of it (Paradise). To me, it doesn't seem as tropical. And don't laugh....but the sand seems coarser...grittier, if you will. I remember wishing that I had my water shoes when I was in the water at Paradise and at Nachi. I have never been to Passion Island so I can only speak about what my feet have walked through BUT I hear the sand is white and soft at Passion Island. Just my opinion. :D I'll report back when I get home!

I have been to Passion Island 5 times and it is beautiful. We love it! Pretty obvious huh? We are going to try Nachi this October for a change so I cannot compare yet. The sand is white and pretty soft at PI. My husband says it makes him think of Gilligan's Island for those old enough to know what I am talking about. I think it is the most beautiful place on earth. Hope you have a great time whatever you pick.

NOT TRUE!!!!!!!!!

Only not offered to Carnival cruisers clueless enough to say they are on a Carnival ship. (due to Carnival strong arming Isla Passion)

Still offered by multiple independant operators...

Need I go on....

Probably 20 more companies offering it.

(actually the easiest to book independant excursion, with the most companies offering it.)
