ski-lift to Paradise Point

Can anyone tell me if the ski-lift to Paradise Point in St Thomas is up and running?

We were there in the middle of August and it was closed...no one seemed to know when it would reopen;(

It was closed when I was there last November. Did it open and close again, or has it been closed since then? I'm guessing it will probably still be closed when I'm there again next month.

It was scheduled to re-open Sept 1, have not been on the island since Jan.

Hopefully someone who was just there this month can answer your question.

Yes, we drive up when staying on the island and taxis will take you up. But make sure PP is open, usually if the tram is down they're closing or closed.

all I want is to see the view - can I still get up there to do that even if the cafe lift etc are all closed?

Looks like there were 2 big ships in port so if the tram was down either they're working on that or PP was closed, not sure which...

The tickets are showing available for our Epic sailing in November..... Hope thats a good sign. My kids really want to ride the tram, and I just have to try a Bushwhacker drink for myself-- I have heard they are absolutely delicious!!

This will be the second time we have been to St. Thomas and last year the tram was down so we did not get to see it. We did get our $$ back with no problems from Carnival quickly... Sure would like to see the view and a drink would be nice too.

I am on the Epic Nov 16 - biggest part of hitting St Thomas was tram up for a Bushwhacker.... Has anyone determined if its open or not?

Ladypandora new owners, and the tram is undergoing repairs/maintenance. Parts were enroute from Austria last I heard and the tram was expected to be running this Sunday.

I couldn't remember seeing any ramps or elevators when I was there a few years ago, and there are lots of stairs. In verifying my recollection I came across http://www.ada.gov/tramcon.htm which suggests that there may be facilities in place today.

See to remember 6 - 8 ppl maybe, no long lines unless several ships are in and everyone walkover at the same time.

There is no dedicated site, just google and YouTube for videos.

 

Sorry, not sure about handicap accessibility smile...try asking that question on the st Thomas forum on tripadvisor, a resident may have the latest info.
