We are cruising 12/7/13 on the Epic and would like your recommendations on best places to eat, etc. Does anyone have a MDR menu? Don't want to miss "lobster night.";)

This will be my first time on epic so I can't really help you but we're also going to be on that sailing and the roll call group is pretty active with several people who have been on the Epic before. You may want to join and ask your questions there as well.

Moderno is a great place to go for lots of yummy meats on a stick! I thought the MDR was good and went there most nights. The Sushi place is great for lunch.

Yes they had lobster in the Manhattan MDR the first night. Go early, there will be a crowd. That is about the only time I have heard people complain of lines and waiting on the early December Epic cruises. We are on this cruise as well, it will be our 3rd time.

For every place on Epic (or any other ship) there are probably some people that would recommend that place. However, that just means that THEY liked it...it does NOT mean that YOU will enjoy it as well.

 

Without knowing YOUR preferences, it is impossible to make recommendations. Go...explore...do the things that YOU enjoy. THAT is the best recommendation.

 

 

As to Menus...NCL Ships rotate 14 different menus in the MDRs. The rotation is determined by the Chef onboard and varies from sailing to sailing. There are plently of menu photos all over Cruise Critic, however there is simply no way to know which menus will be used on your cruise and on which nights.

 

As for Lobster...always embarkation day.

Thanks for all your comments! I plan to check out most of the dining options! We are not "picky eaters" and can always find our favorite place to eat! We are looking forward to our 3rd NCL cruise and enjoying "freestyle." We are not going to even pack formal clothes this time!:D It's going to be all about relaxing!

I enjoyed Taste for lunch.

 

Teppanyaki was delicious and fun and we enjoyed Moderno as well.

 

The Manhattan Room is a nice main dining room with a hint of elegance without having to be formal. Good food.

 

I love Epic. Have fun!
