I have been reaching, but, just want someone to confirm. Royal Caribbean - Adventure of the Seas thanks robin Yes. Cash is needed to play in the casino. Bring plenty of extra cash, so you don't have to worry about any extra charges to get cash (there is a safe in your room). Typically, I will use cash close to the end of the cruise to pay most if not all of my bill (hopefully winnings). That way I go home with little or no charges to my credit card. kcmspatsy Posted October 2, 2013 #3 Share Posted October 2, 2013 Just like home, you can use cash. They have a limited number of table games, lots of slot machines. The older ships still dispense your winnings in quarters but most have now upgraded to paper receipts. They all have a cashiers window to break large bills, cash in tickets. You can use your sail pass in the machine to accumulate points for small rewards, t-shirt, things like that.
hollon Posted October 2, 2013 #4 Share Posted October 2, 2013 can you use your seapass card for the casino, or do we need cash? I don't gamble, but my brother does. So, I need to tell him to bring quarters, etc for the slots? also, he gets 100 obc, could he use that in the casino?

You can get cash from your SeaPass card, but they will charge you 5%.

And most now pay off with a ticket that you take to another machine, put it in, and the machine will dispense the cash amount.
garycarla Posted October 2, 2013 #7 Share Posted October 2, 2013 Machines take bills only. No coins. Cash is king in the casino. You can easily take a few hundred or few thousand with you onboard. You can get more from the ATM. Machines will spit out tickets good in other machines, or you can cash it in.
danielsumner Posted October 2, 2013 #8 Share Posted October 2, 2013 I'm going to miss the coins. One of my favorite things in going to the casino when if first opens. I take a bunch of quarters and make my way around the room dropping a coin in each single line pay machine and pull the handle. I've been very lucky that way hitting the small jackpots.
