Can a 20 year old go on an excursion independently?

Two adults would like to do a golf excursion but 20 year old DS has no interest. Can he book an RCI excursion alone, or does he have to be with adults over the age of 21? Will he be allowed off the ship without his parents?

He's considered an adult at age 18, so should be no problem.

Absolutely. At 15, my daughter went on an excursion with a friend of the family. RCCL had no way of knowing who she was with, and did not question the booking.

Thank you both for quick responses! I know he was legally able to consume alcohol and gamble in the Caribbean at 18, but not able to be in a cabin more than one away from ours until age 21 (per RCI).

 

This will help since wants to do something besides snorkel or golf.

He can also gamble onboard at age 18

no problem. Our son at age 16 went on a shore excursion by himself through RCCL. He was warned to stay with his group (about 30 "old people" according to him !!) Yes, he had a good time as he got to do what he wanted but learned it wasn't as much fun by himself.

I went on an excursion all by myself back in 1969 when I was almost 19.. (as did I suspect a lot of folks on did) I didn't get my own room but certainly wasn't within one door of mom. so are they saying if I'm a returning vet and married but under 21 I can't sail on RCI?

He may not be able to book a room on his own, but for all other things, he's an adult. He can do as he pleases!
