In the old days it was a VCR Alert. For those of us in Canada Discovery HD's Mighty Ships (season 7) is Featuring NCL's Breakaway tonight at 7:00 PM est. Two episodes the first being its maiden voyage and the second hour building the Breakaway. Sorry not sure of US coverage maybe you guys already saw it?

The series doesn't seem to air in the US.:( The episodes usually show up on you tube eventually. I guess we'll just have to wait until it's uploaded.

 

It's on the Smithsonian channel ch 634 on fios. I watched the one about the Epic. Hopefully someone will post when the Breakaway one will be airing in the US.

If I was really talented I would know how to upload it from the pvr for all of you in the US...but I'm not :)

They focused a lot on the problem solving of issues that arose, navigation around a big storm and not as much as I would have liked about the guest experience. I guess I'll have to wait until March...

I watched the second hour first the making of Breakaway then watched the first hour last the inaugural TA. I enjoyed both episodes.

 

This is the same ship yard that built the five Solstice class ships for Celebrity and the next Quantum class for RCI. When you look at exterior shots of Breakaway you can really similarities to the Solstice class. I think Quantum Class has even more similarities in looks to the Solstice Class.

 

All I could think of when they showed the painting of the "Peter Max" hull is how Mr Max snubbed CC's Gambee on his his Breakaway voyage.

Hey seen it loved it!! And I was in it 3 times lol..I was the crazy screamer and had my interview on... I was also on the commercial lol it was a great experience...

 

I think I saw you....were you interviewed outside the casino after winning some $$$?

 

These were two great shows, I'm glad I got to revisit the ship:)

It didn't air last night on Smithsonian on DirecTv. Does anyone have an idea of when this will air in the States? I have a quick cruise to nowhere planned for Jan it would be nice to see this before the cruise.

I truly hope one of our Canadian friends uploads it to you tube. Would be nice to get to see it after we come back. :) Might ease that post cruise depression (aka real life, lol)

 

I hope so as well. I also put out this request on our FB Quantum of the Seas group since the Breakaway's Sister Getaway was sharing space with Quantum.
