Rare mitsugirly Posted November 21, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 21, 2013 I'm trying to do my budgeting for NOLA for our upcoming cruise in a few weeks and could use some help. 1) How much is the taxi ride from the airport to a hotel down by te casino? 2) How much is the taxi from the above area to the port? 3) How much for the taxi from the port back to the airport? 4) How much do they charge now to ride the street cars? 5) Anyone remember the price of the Beignets? :D Thanks in advance. :)

That helps a lot. As for the trolley, we normally walk around everywhere and just catch the trolley back to the hotel. Do you know how much it is just for a 1 way trip per person? Rare mitsugirly Posted November 21, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted November 21, 2013 just read yesterday-1.25 Thanks so much. I did look at my previous review from the last time we went to get Beignets and there were $2.49 each, but that was a few years ago. Have they raised the prices any? Haha, yea that has to be older than the last time we were there at Cafe Du Monde because we paid $2.49 each and that was in 2011. :)
rvsullivan Posted November 23, 2013 #8 Share Posted November 23, 2013 Menu posted on 11/9/13 shows the cost of an order (3) at $2.42. Price appears to be unchanged from previous poster.
Budget Queen Posted November 23, 2013 #9 Share Posted November 23, 2013 Taxi rates are for 2 people, for more, it is a per person rate. :) I walk to the cruise ship from Camp (La Quinta), if you are by the casino, there is also the streetcar, (Never call it a trolley :) ) That goes to Julia St/cruise ships. I suppose they would also charge for a 5 year old too then right? So we are looking at 3 people total. There's no way we can walk to the cruise ship with a 5 year old and about 4 luggage, carry on and so on. It's just too much work. Plus, I have road the streetcars and I know it was always standing room only plus they don't like you to be carrying luggage on it. So that's definitely out of the question. :(

(unless you get a cab driver, who ignores it, but don't count on it) Rate is $14 per person, so your cab fare is $42+++ Edited November 23, 2013 by Budget Queen
KOOLBEANS Posted November 24, 2013 #12 Share Posted November 24, 2013 Budget - LOL, I think on my 1st cruise, there were 3 of us, and I think we had about 7 bags!! Geez, how my packing has wayyyyyy toned down.
Rare mitsugirly Posted November 24, 2013 Author #13 Share Posted November 24, 2013 We each have our own suitcase and then 1 smaller suitcase for personal items (toiletries, hair stuff, makeup and so on). I always find that even with this amount of bags, we never have enough room to pack things coming home (with the stuff we buy while we are cruising). Oh, I almost forget, I added an extra pull along smaller luggage on our last cruise for all the soda we bring. :D
WLHyatt Posted November 28, 2013 #14 Share Posted November 28, 2013 French quarter or garden district to the port is a fixed rate, $7pp. They will sometime run the meter, which can be a good deal if you are staying in the lower garden district or CBD. It might be iffy to run the meter from the quarter.
