Passport question

So I have misplaced my passport in one of those mysterious disappearance. So I am asking does it take longer to get a replacement.

It takes however long it takes.

 

They have been coming back pretty quickly recently but you can always expedited it - depending on your circumstances.

The cruise is still a couple months away but the winter season is where most of my free time is.

If you have a couple of months before you need it, you have plenty of time to get a replacement passport if you apply now. Based on anecdotal information, the turnaround time seems to be less than 4 weeks--perhaps as little as two weeks.

My advice is to get online and fill out the form, print it out.... Get a passport picture at Kinkos or what ever they call it now. See if your local passport office needs an appt or if you can drop by :)

We applied in early November for DD and DH

 

DH's was returned in exactly 25 days from mailing to receiving it back.

 

DD's well that is another story and is stuck in Phoenix. I've been back and forth with the passport agent a few times and hopefully next week it will be on its way to us!

Overseas birth to American parents, bio-father gave up custody with step-father adoption, and legal name change. Lots of complicated factors by themselves but all together created a mess.

 

We thought we had it all in order but one piece of paper was missing a judge's signature. We were able to secure that on Wednesday and hopefully it will be sent soon.

Applied for my first passport on November 18th. Got it in the mail on November 29th, day after Thanksgiving. That was fast in my book...
