caribophile Posted December 9, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2013 Just checking the Norwegian website for details about our Caribbean cruise on the Epic next week. Noticed this caveat about the time available at the three ports of call: "Due to security reasons, all guests must be on board 2 hours before sailing. Disembarkation usually begins 2hours after docking." Seriously???
TravelDiva88 Posted December 9, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 9, 2013 All aboard is usually 30-60 minutes prior to sailaway at the ports of call. You must be onboard 2 hours prior to initial departure from your embarkation call. It's never taken 2 hours to disembark after arriving at a port of call in all my years of cruising. Seafan22 Posted December 9, 2013 #6 Share Posted December 9, 2013 I'm going out of Copenhagen in September, one of the stops is the Faroe Islands. Posted times are arrival 7:00 am depart 2:00 pm. If the 2 hour rules apply, we will get off at 9:00 and have to be back on at 12:00 noon. What's that, time to get off take three pictures and get back on the ship? As already said just few messages before in this thread, the 2 hour before time limit is only for the embarkation day, in ports of call the "all aboard" time for passengers is 30 minutes before departure. DGP1111 Posted December 9, 2013 #10 Share Posted December 9, 2013 Tampa's not a port of call  ;) It actually is this season for Norwegian Dawn. For most onboard it's an embarkation/debarkation port, and for others onboard it's a 1-day port of call stop. Yep, 'tis weird. .
