B2B on Indy ~ Dec. 1 & 7 ~ My Diary

Interesting review! Didn't know Independence had a Diamond Breakfast section in the MDR. Was it also there on the Dec 7 sailing?

 

We were on 2 or 3 B2B in Jan. and didn't know either. We wondered if we didn't see a D+ sign or read? the full letter to D+ in the cabin and so we missed it? Too bad, but we are on many B2Bs in a week + time, so we will definitely use it this time!:D

Other ships have them off to the side MDR area by the stairs and you see the sign out front of that door.

I like the ones that are off to the side. There is usually a sign saying what it is and they check your card. But on the Independence, you just tell the guy at the door that you want to be seated in the Diamond/Diamond Plus area.

Friday ~ Dec. 6th ~ At Sea

 

Last day of the cruise.....always so sad. Oh wait......We're on for 8 more days!! We don't have to pack today and have to worry about debarkation tomorrow! yay!!

 

After breakfast we went to look for pictures. We easily found the few that we had made and we got a couple of them.

 

We had a meeting of all the consecutive cruisers up in Olive or Twist this morning. Mimosas were served. There were 126 of us staying on board for the next cruise. We got all our instructions and were also able to make Chops and Giovanni's reservations for the next week.....which I did.

Had a late lunch in the WJ today to avoid the crowd. Had a great salad with some chicken.

 

Oh.....here's a foot shot from my reading time on the balcony:

After lunch, I took a long stroll around the ship. I walked all around the outside promenade on Deck 4.....up to the helipad and back again. It was gorgeous! Hardly any wind.

I ventured up to the sports deck next and took a picture of the golf course. I always have good intentions of playing a round but never do. It was a great afternoon for playing today.....very little wind up here!

Great review!! We are traveling on IOS on a 6 night in February 2014. Nice to see pictures/meals for MTD as that is our plan (friends are at early seating, but it is full so we cannot join them).

 

I have a medical, gluten free diet so I plan to have breakfast in MDR.

Also, a question....I don't know what the "CL" is that you visited daily....

 

Glad you had a wonderful vacation, hoping ours is as well!:)

CL--Concierge Lounge is for Suite Guests- above Junior Suite.

Also, for Pinnacles and Diamond Plus Crown & Anchor members.:)

 

Have you got your name on the Waiting List for Early Dining, you may get it?

 

Have a great cruise! We are on IOS in Feb. as well......been on IOS before and love this ship and crew.

You should have no problem with your Gluten Free diet. They have symbols on the menu that let you know which items are gluten free. If you want....you can order your meal for the next night the night before so you will be sure of no cross contamination. They are very helpful with that.....Just speak to your head waiter immediately.

 

The CL.....is the Concierge Lounge. That is a special lounge for Suite Guests and Diamond Plus and Pinnacle C&A members. (at least for the moment!!)

 

Hope you will have a great cruise in February. Might have to look at joining you!!

Since we didn't have to pack today....we spent a very relaxing afternoon.

 

Went to the CL for drinks and one last visit with Lars and Eva, Bryce, and Al and Phyllis. Also Helen and Sue. Sue was leaving, but Helen was staying on with us.

Our roll call buddy, Michael, showed up dressed like Santa!! He was moving on to two or three more cruises after this one on different ships.

We made one last visit to the casino. We did our Spin to Wins! I.....as usual.....won nothing. And John won 2 key chains to add to our massive collection! I put $20 in a Haywire machine that I had luck on earlier in the week, and I won again....$96!! I was happy! And on John's very last spin of the Wheel of Fortune....he hit the spin and won $250! So we quickly grabbed our winnings and went to bed after that.

 

The suitcases were out in the hallway......but none of these are ours.

Tomorrow we will welcome aboard the other two couples that we have been waiting 6 years to cruise with again. Can't wait to see them and start a new cruise on the Indy.......stay tuned!!
