I tried searching and didn't find a post discussing this, but I just saw a Pool Casino on the deck plans for the Getaway.... this sounds awesome!! Does anyone know anything more about this? any images yet? I think this just made the decision for us to book Getaway!!!!

Yep, I saw that on the deck plans, too. I can't find any info about it though. It does not appear that Breakaway has that, from what I can see on the deck plans. I must say, it looks very tiny. No bigger than the pool itself.

I think there is one on the Breakaway - but as I recall DH said it was never open! :o

Same here. I've been on several NCL ships that have supposedly had poolside casino areas and I've never seen them open either. It's possible that they only open it during hours that I normally don't go to the pool deck (e.g., nights) but if I were the OP, I wouldn't book a ship based solely on this factor.

I have been on the Gem a few times and the only time they ever opened the poolside is when a table of high rollers requested it. If it wasnt for that I would never know there were 2 tables under a tarp. Probablly the same with most ships.

I have not been on any of the new "___-away" ships, but on all the other NCL ships I've been on, there is a "pool casino" and I have never, repeat never seen it open. And I've walked the pool decks at night too, when you think it might be open.

In addition, on most of the other ships it appears to be limited to at most one or two table games, such as blackjack. No slots, no craps.

Strangely, on our recent Jewel cruise out of New Orleans I found a forlorn digital blackjack table up in the Spinnaker lounge. It appeared to be on and playable, but no one was using it. Maybe it gets better use at night when the lounge if really a lounge? Odd, though.

Forlorn? I think not. That bj table in Spinnaker was one of my favorite places to be on the Jewel. I (and several of my friends) played it quite a bit - low minimum and no smoking allowed in Spinnaker. Suited me very well. I wish they would put this machine on both the Breakaway and Getaway.

Well, I'm glad to know it got some use. No smoking is nice too!

One member of our party aboard the Gem in November also played these digital tables (there was a roulette one as well) in Spinnaker and came out on top (and quite pleased with himself!). With that said, I don't recall seeing anything poolside on any of our cruises.

I hope it's a few table games, that would be awesome!! Now, if only it were like the tables at Hard Rock in Vegas... they are IN the water... talk about the best of both worlds :D

Loved those tables in the pool at Hard Rock :D Did very well at those tables. Mr. Sheehan are you listening..lol
