We will be on the Pride and I'm trying to figure out if you get a separate casino card that you insert into the machine when you play...or is it just your sign & sail card? We are not big spenders....but if we get any type of points what do you do with them? How does it work? Thanks in advance!!

Oh yeah, do I bring rolls of quarters to play with or get them there....or not change at all..bills only?

The only machine that accepts coins is the quarter push machine.

You use your S&S card in the machines and accumulate points. For every 1000 points you get paid $10 that loads to the machine you are on.

You have to set up your Players Bank to collect your winnings then cash them out at the casino cage.

Here is a little more detail for you.

Put your S&S card in the machine. Set up a PIN number. Put paper money into the machine and play. When you are done, cash out and it will put the money on your card in a separate account. If you want to play another machine, put your card in the machine. Enter your PIN. Tell the machine how much of the money on the card you want placed in the machine. It will download it and you can start playing.

When you are all done and want to collect any winnings you have on the card, take it to the Casino cage and tell the worker that you want to cash out. They will scan your card. There is a small keypad on the counter. You enter your PIN and they will hand you the cash.

If you have any problems setting up your account, there are several casino workers walking around to assist you. As another poster mentioned, at 1000 credits, you get a $10 credit. At 1500, you get a drinks on us card where as long as you're playing in the casino, they will give you free drinks. Those numbers are for a 7 day or above cruise but 6 and below may be fewer points needed.

Thank you so, so much for the more detail...it makes more sense now.

One question...do the points keep accumulating or do they go up and down as you use your credits and cash out? Or maybe I should ask it this way...is 1000 points equal to any certain amount of money....like $1.00 plays is 100 points?

Just wondering, because like I said earlier we don't play much. Last cruise (4 years ago RCCL) we each took two rolls of quarters with us to play only to find out...1- it only took paper money and not quarters and 2- we only played with what we brought and as we won we would cash it out and keep it separate. We brought $40.00 on board and ended up with $60.00 in winnings (so put it towards photos that we purchased- not back into the casino).

Points keep accumulating. For slots 1 point = $2.50 put in play. Keep in mind this is not win/loss, just $$ put at risk.

imakemistaeks: Yes you can, but there is a 3% surcharge added for withdrawing cash at table games.

But getting cash out of a slot machine/Player's Bank is at no charge. The money comes out how you set up your shipboard account. It is labeled 'entertainment' on your statement.

Haven't seen live poker on Carnival, only the Poker Pro machines.

Ok, sorry, I am slow lol:

So, for slots, I put my card in, but use my real paper money... It has no effect on my S&S account?

Second.. table games.... do I use real cash? I am using a cash account for my S&S card, instead of a credit card, so that I don't get any 'holds'. I put aside separate money that I was planning on taking and using in the casino.

For slots, you are correct. It's a completely different account.

I never play table games so I can't answer that questions.

Don't forget at the end of the cruise you actually have to cash out at the casino desk... it makes very little sense since all the money comes off your S&S anyway but I almost forgot this week. This was the least I have ever gambled as we we only had 1 sea day and I tend to get sleepy when I have been at the beach all day.

If 1 point= $2.50 spent...then yeah...I won't be getting anything free either.

Do you get point off of winnings? I would love to win $2,500 that would give me free drinks LOL!!

No points off of winnings, only spending. If you are a really lucky person, you could put $1 in a machine and if you kept winning and kept spending it, you could get the free $10 and the free drinks.

On our last cruise, it was an 8 day one. One of the casino hosts told me that on the last night, most of the people in the casino had the cards for free drinks. He said that usually happens on an 8 day or above cruise.

The tables operate like a regular casino. Buy chips at the table and cash them in at the cashier.

If you do forget the casino desk will call your room and ask you to come and get your winnings.
