What if you receive a promotional $50. SBC towards excursions from Princess but the passenger doesn't book any excursions?

Seems like you should be able to use it for anything on board,(gratuities, bar bill, gift shop) not just excursions.

Is this a use it (for excursions) or lose it ?

No answer for you, was going to pose a similar question.

Anyone out there actually sail with this Promotion in place? If so, did it show as a general OBC or like asked above, were you required to use it toward an Excursion. Same question applies to the Specialty Dining OBC offered under this Promo.

Looking for First Hand Experience from someone who has been there.

Thank you

Hi,

this is from the Princess site:

Free shore excursion credit applies $200 per stateroom ($100 per person) for Europe, and $100 per stateroom ($50 per person) for Caribbean and Alaska voyages for cruise fares advertised in this promotion only. A credit in the respective dollar amount will be posted to your stateroom account upon embarkation. This credit may be used for any excursion purchased during your cruise, including any that were pre-reserved online. Credit may be used on a single voyage only and expires at the end of that voyage.
Any credit not used for shore excursions will be applied toward the stateroom account balance.
Offer is not transferable and may not be combinable with other select offers or other onboard credits. Shore Excursion credit is quoted in U.S. dollars.

Hope this helps,

Brian

The excursion OBC will appear as a vredit on your stateroom account.

Was the specialty dining offer listed as OBC or just listed as a complimentary dinner there?

If listed as a complimentary dinner, I suspect there will be a card in your cabin to present at the specialty restaurant to cover the cost of the meal and thus will not be OBC on your stateroom account.

If there is no special note on your account with the $50 you can allocate it to anything as they automatically do every night It will just disappear for the tips I expect if you do not use it. However if the Complimentary meal says that then that is what it has to be used for

I just have to ask the question. Why do you say "seems like you should be able to use it for anything" if the promotion is towards excursions? Would you say the same thing with a Starbucks gift card when trying to use it at Burger King?
