Ship time vs. local time?

Hello,

 

we will cruise on the Freedom of the Seas, departing from Port Canaveral, with a stop in Cozumel, scheduled by RCCL from 10 am - 7 pm.

We would like to book an excursion and are not sure if we have to consider different times (ship vs. local time).

Our preferred excursion starts at 9:45 am, but the schedule says 10 am arrival. Does this mean 8 am local time?

It appears that you are cruising in November after daylight savings time ends (Mexico and the US adjust on different dates), so your ship-time should be an hour ahead of local Coz time.

Your 10:00 AM ship time arrival will be 9:00 AM Coz time, so you should be okay.

The thing you need to find out on the RCCI board is does The freedom change time or not.

Example: Princess changes time the night before arriving.

Carnival does not and stays on ship time, Or embarkation time.

RCI has never changed time on my cruises. :cool:

We've been on Princess cruises that have changed time for Cozumel and other ones that have not. The best place to get your answer is on each cruise line's specific board--and even then you're not guaranteed to get the right answer.

I would contact the excursion company and let them know the ship and date you will be there and let them tell you if they have an excursion that will work for you. They do these excursions all the time and are aware of when the ship docks and when you will be able to get off the ship and meet up with them.
