what's wrong with deck 6 on breeze?

The noise factor applies to every cruise ship, not just Breeze and not just Carnival. Any cabin that is directly above an entertainment area on the ship can expect to be entertained as well. We were on Conquest once and directly above singer just outside Casino. It sounded like he was actually in our cabin!

It's best to allow a 'deck of insulation' for quiet.

Elevators do not provide any noise, people do.

We always book cabins by the elevators and have never once heard any noise from the elevators or the people riding on them. They are in the middle of the ship and the cabins are on the outside. You won't hear any more noise than you would from people just walking by and talkiing no matter where your cabin is.

Thank you..my first cruise and hoping it wont be my last....It was on my bucket list...:p Right now the wind is howling outside here in Iowa...think wind chill -10 degree..at this point I would sleep in the lifeboats to get away from the weather.....Thank you again for your reply

You're welcome. Enjoy - you will have a fantastic time!!! There's something about sea air and being on the ocean that takes away every bit of stress in my life. Getting away from the cold is so nice - be prepared for it to become an annual trip! :p:)

I think that may depend on the location. I could hear the elevator bells chiming at our location on the Breeze near the forward elevators as well as some hall conversations. Not a huge deal on that ship or very loud, but it can happen.

I've also been on deck 6 near the atrium elevators on a Conquest class ship (over the sports bar - never again on that one!) and had near constant noise from the elevators chiming, people talking while waiting for elevators, and the evening music from the atrium the seems to carry right up the atrium.

thanks everyone but I think I will just keep 6356 because I see its near the elevators & pretty close to mid ship I don't think from what I can see there is no hot tub under my cabin although it looks like I'm over the entrance to the casino oh well not in cabin much except to sleep. Hope I can

You'll be fine, the biggest worry is what's underneath you. That section of the Lido isn't a problem.

For Jimmy's C-Side BBQ we went to the lido buffet and got trays, lined up for the BBQ at 11:30-ish and were about 5th in line. The line got very long and we were glad to have the trays to balance our plates and drinks on. We actually brought extra trays from the Lido and passed them back through the line for others to have/use.

The Goldfish slots paid out nicely on our cruise.

Have a great time on the Breeze!

  • 1 year later...

So I was googling and came upon this thread...yes I know its old but now its got me thinking...this will be our third time on the Breeze and I finally got a chance (due to just the hubby and I cruising, no kids wooohooo ) for an aft balcony ..But its on deck 6..6501 to be exact. Now reading that basically this deck should be avoided is this cabin really that bad? I do enjoy spending time on our balcony, whether day or nite. Both times on the breeze we had a Forward location and A spa balcony cabin. No complaints what so ever.. . Yes I know we're going from one extreme to the other, lol. Just wanted to try something different. Any help would be great!

Stay away from ext afts on Deck 7 next to the wraps. Much smaller cabins, no sofa or coffee table. Cabins toward the middle of Deck 7 ext afts are ok. Balconies are all big. Got stuck in the smaller ext aft 2 yrs ago and was not happy. Had to watch tv on the bed, not comfortable. If you pay for ext afts then you deserve the room with the sofa and coffee table.

We've had 6501 twice - and haven't booked for a third time in September 2016.

We have had NO issues with the location. It's the largest wrap balcony because of the slope of the back of the ship and has a nice layout. Could post the link to my photos - if you'd like!!

I think I can get an Aft cabin on level 6 but didn't want the movement...Not sure if I will get seasick being my first cruise...I'd rather deal with noise than getting sick:eek:

Pack bovine for sea sickness just in case. One pill every 12 hours and it is non drowsy. I take one before take off and every morning. If I get sick it it's too late!

Luckily we've never suffered with sea sickness.

But, I will share that - if you prefer a more natural option - friends of ours swear by ginger too!! You can get ginger capsules at places like GNC. Many also have success just keeping ginger snap cookies in their pockets and popping in a few when they need them.
