ksparrothead Posted March 3, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 3, 2014 Been to Margaritaville...don't really want to pay the ungodly fees for beers...is there a good beach bar with better prices and a good beach that we can grab a taxi to?
K&RCurt Posted March 4, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 4, 2014 Just walk to Jack's Shack. Look to the left as you walk down the Quay to the cruise center. Jack's is right on the beach, just before the smaller Quay to your left.
Rare crewsweeper Posted March 4, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 4, 2014 Jacks can be as expensive for beer and drinks as MV. Crew Bar, next to MV, is a tad cheaper, as I recall.

OCruisers Posted March 9, 2014 #5 Share Posted March 9, 2014 we just walked past Margaritaville and the next bar had buckets for next to nothing with conch fritters as well - delicious  Really ... How much were the buckets of beer? They weren't dirt cheap when we walked over there. We didn't find it very much less expensive especially since they didn't add a 15% tip like Margaritaville does. It certainly was way less crowded. LuLu ~~~

I walked down the beach last week and saw a sign for $2.00 local beer with what seemed to be free chairs (only one umbrella though). It was between Margaritaville and Jack's Shack. 2 cruzen Posted March 22, 2014 #7 Share Posted March 22, 2014 What about places in town for a drink and nice view of the water?
The Boomers Posted April 14, 2014 #8 Share Posted April 14, 2014 The Sandbar is great! Right by Manta House and close to downtown Cockburn. Right on the water, great conch dishes, etc. Short cab ride will get you there in 10 minutes from cruise center. We have stayed at Manta House during two trips to Grand Turk. Excellent. Rare crewsweeper Posted April 15, 2014 #9 Share Posted April 15, 2014 I'll second the Sandbar. Those two owners hustle and service is great and food is delicious.
gator582 Posted April 16, 2014 #10 Share Posted April 16, 2014 If you go to Sandbar, is it easy to catch a cab back to the pier? Taxi's hanging around?
The Boomers Posted April 17, 2014 #11 Share Posted April 17, 2014 If you go to Sandbar, is it easy to catch a cab back to the pier? Taxi's hanging around? Just ask someone working at the Sandbar--they will phone for a cab.

gerbera33 Posted April 26, 2014 #16 Share Posted April 26, 2014 Absolutely loved Jack's Shack and will be returning there next time around! Great service, fun atmosphere. Yes the drinks were a little on the pricey side but to us it was definitely worth it.
