Never again on the Liberty

I was on that same sailing and my group had the best time ever. Everyone, staff and guests, were so lively and friendly at all times. My cabin was a bit forward and above the atrium so I was able to peek at the Mardi Gras party. Not for me. It seemed fun, but my soul for that entire trip was at the Alchemy Bar which is where it seemed most of the Mardi Gras revellers ended up. At 11 most people were either by the bar or getting ready to hit the nightclub and I honestly didn't see kids past a certain time and certainly none acting a fool. You're completely right about DJ Spike though. He was great and my group loved our shoutouts in the club! There were a few guys on board that looked young, but we're definitely of age (I'm nosy and jumped on my investigator skills). At 1 am, I can guarantee you that I was not about to run to guest services for them to start policing wet floor signs.

As far as cabin cleanliness, I applaud our steward because three girls in one room with copious amounts of clothes, makeup, shoes, etc can become a nightmare. He left us plenty of extra toilet paper and tissue boxes and towels whenever we called. Having a toilet brush in each bathroom is a complaint I'd never thought I'd hear about. To be on vacation and away from snow was enough to make me smile all day, everyday. To have excellent service and beautiful weather on top of it??? No complaints are leaving this mouth...except that I'm not back on board!

Thanks for the mini review.........I'm sailing the Liberty this July and now I'm thinking that I have made a great choice. Most of the deck parties and clubs have been pretty dull on my last few cruises, sounds like they know how to throw a party on the Liberty.

They do! I'm not much of a party person OR a dancer, but even I joined the conga line during the fiesta Lido Deck party on Liberty!

It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt and the ship changes course to take an injured passenger to meet the Coast Guard. Then it affects everyone's vacation when they miss the next port. We have been on a couple of cruises where groups of people ran wild on the ship. I don't want to see someone get hurt whether they are sober or drunk. It's disappointing when security doesn't do its job.

If you are concerned about that..they should restrict anyone over 55 years of age or have a bmi over 25 from cruising...those cause majority of medical emergencies

I loved the liberty last fall. Yes, cruising during spring break will lead to lots of spring break antics I didn't have plans tobea dance cougar, but all there were to dance with was college boys. What a fun group they were too. Now I understand why that practice is so common in many cultures.

I would like to know which port the cruise departed. I really think you get a different type of vacationers from various ports. This can be personal preference. I will say that we went on a New Year's cruise with friends one year and we're upset with the young children who were extremely drunk. I blame the parents for this.

I have never seen a toilet brush in our cabin bathroom, on any of our cruises. But, if I did, it wouldn't make or break my cruise. I cannot see the steward carrying around a toilet brush to all of the cabins he has to care for.

Liberty usually gets RAVE reviews, so something seems a bit off, here.

Not to say she isn't entitled to a bad week here, or there, but it really does sound like you are nitpicking, just a bit.

Our last cruise, we had the WORST room steward, EVER. Praying we don't have him again this year, as we are going on the same ship, and staying on the same deck.:eek: But, again, if we do, we'll deal with it. It certainly won't ruin our cruise.

Hope this one "bad" experience doesn't keep you from cruising Carnival, or ANY line, for that matter, again. Not all cruises can be 100% perfect.

Move up. Move on.:D:D

The toilet brush is tucked behind the toilet so its not in full view. You probably never felt the need to look for it. Totally understandable.

I didn't want quite time I wanted grown women to not rub there private parts on little boys in front of me!! That is not "nitpicky" it is DISGUSTING!!!!

Was this a Jr. High School teacher special engagement cruise?

More likely, you saw a 22 year old surrounded by a couple middle aged women. You started off exaggerating about the steward wanting you to clean your own bathroom, likely you are exaggerating here too.

As others have said, we've had a toilet brush in our bathroom pretty much every cruise that I can remember. I think you assumed it was forgotten or intentionally left for you to clean your own toilet, but that's not the case. I wasn't there at the deck party, but I find it highly unlikely that older women were grinding little boys. That surprises me.

No comment on the complaint but I sincerely doubt that 11pm on a Carnival cruise is any comparison to what routinely goes on in New Orleans on Mardi Gras.

Some people need to expand their sheltered lives.

Just got off my 4th cruise on the Liberty On the 19th of last month. Loved it. Loved it so much, that I'm sure it won't be my final time on it. Yes, like everyone said, there is a toilet bowl brush. It is there for when people leave debris behind and don't want the room steward to see. Not for you to scrub and clean your own toilet daily.

I don't remember when I ever 1st noticed this brush. It could have been on my 1st cruise ever. But I never thought it was there because the steward wanted me to clean my own toilet.

As for the toilet paper. I've ran out of tp in my cruising lifetime before. Idk if it was on Carnival or Royal Caribbean but I decided to do something completely absurd and strange.....I asked my room steward for more.

I come from the land of Chicago. We have strange customs like "communicating with people".

Even more eye opening would be Key West!

I was on the Liberty 4/5/14 and had a great time . The band that was playing near the casino was the best I've heard in a long time. If people complain at home it is sure bet they will complain on a cruise.

Not necessarily. I complain a lot at home, but I don't remember complaining on any of my cruises.

If you think they complain a lot on a cruise, just imagine what they're like at home!
