Thanks. I double checked and indeed Princess did not respond. Same difference of opinions there (facebook) as on here.

Don't know why anyone bothers to respond to anything with all the nasty, rude people who can't keep their negativity to themselves. This is to share opinions and knowledge and experiences. Everyone's are different. Respect others' posts without the rudeness and everyone would be happier.

I can only say that I did bring a Black and Decker single cup brewer with automatic shut off and no hot plate (brews into a thermal mug) on my last 2 cruises (CB), left it in plain view on the desk and no one said I could not use it. Had no problems with electricity and kept it unplugged except when using it in the morning.

Lots of folks think they know everything. Their opinion is fact. The coffee maker I brought was exactly like yours. The cabin supervisor examined it and said it was just fine. He has to sleep on the ship too and he wasn't nervous or scared one bit about that little gadget.

I have a battery operated small box fan from Walmart. If all you need is "noise" there are several apps for Android devices that are for white noise or things like fans. I have a speaker that connects to my Kindle --works great! I like this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007BFSYMS/ref=docs-os-doi_0

Gosh, I've been on 21 Princess cruises and brought my fan on every one. It's only a 10 inch personal fan so don't know how big yours is and why they took it away from you.

Yes, I take it for the white noise.

Large fan motors produce quite a bit of electrical 'noise' No idea if that's an issue for the ships power systems, but it could be. that

Other lines do have kettles/pots but are they not tested to safety standards? Someone bringing on an appliance with a heating element and not necessarily conforming to the safety standards required by ships, I would say was deemed as potentially hazardous. It doesn't say that irons are acceptable but they do not allow them. With virtually every poster on here calling for the OP to get a coffee card and to forget the pot, the OP is still insisting on bringing it until they are told otherwise - by then it could be too late !!

Princess provides hair dryers yet passengers including my wife bring their own because the one the ship provides is useless for her long hair. Hair dryers and flat irons which also have heating elements are permitted without question of safety standards. I don't see any difference with a coffee maker that has an auto shutoff and does not require a pot and warming plate. Truthfully I think passengers lighting up to smoke in a crowded casino is bigger safety issue. With the limited amount of outlets I can't imagine anyone leaving an appliance plugged in when not in use. However I have seen smoldering cigarettes left in ash trays.
