Aft facing cabins on the Voyager

Recommended Posts

Does anybody know the advantages and disadvantages of the aft facing cabins 7390 and 7690 on the Voyager? How do they compare to other E1 cabins? Any info will be appreciated.

The balconies will be much larger than side-facing E1 staterooms.

We had 7388 for NZ cruise. It is better as it's on the corner with a huge balcony. The rooms are ok with a 2 seater sofa. Spectacular for the views when cruising fiords and sounds. There is some structural metal in view. Not so good was the engine noise at times, banging door on a lower deck, soot on deck handrail and loungers (never was cleaned) and a fair amount of movement as well as sewerage smells in hallway. I might add we were in quite rough seas up to gale force 10. Possibly these conditions contributed to the not so goods.

The. Web site voyager-class dot com has some good info on these rooms. The e1 rooms are no different than others on the ship - just larger balcony. The best aft rooms are d1 1388 and 1688 IMO. They are larger and more square shaped so the space feels less cramped. Lots of threads on this if you search.

Other than a little bit of a walk , nothing bad we just snagged 9390 and 9690 on the AOS for our cruise but the only way you get the corner ones is book WAY in advance or get real lucky. :D:D;)

Steve is right (although I'm still really bummed that he has backed out of our cruise next year!). You can get those corner afts if you book well in advance of the cruise or you get lucky and someone backs out. I book at least 18-24 months in advance to snag them. But any aft cabin is a good one if just to sit back and watch where you've been. It also tends to be much quieter back there as well. Less foot traffic in the hallways, too.
