Allure departure

Recommended Posts

What time can we expect the allure to actually depart port with an all-aboard time of 5pm? I booked Giovanni's table for the first night at 6pm and am concerned we might miss the sail away. Is it something we should care about missing? Rookie cruiser here. thanks!

All aboard for guests is usually 30 minutes before departure.

The ship almost always leaves when scheduled, but rarely unexpected things happen. 100+ Days sailing, maybe 2 times we've had delays of more than 5-10 minutes. Although in the "old days" (pre 9/11) they used to "wait" for flights that were delayed if they had a significant number of passengers on them or were part of the air cruise package! Can't do that any longer for a number of reasons, but mostly due to homeland security needing the pax manifest some set period of time before sailing.
Not to worry you will very likely enjoy sail away then make your Giovanni's reservation. If not, Giovanni's is not usually packed full the first night anyway, just delay your timing!

5pm is actually the scheduled departure time for the Allure. All passengers have to be aboard earlier than that. Generally the ship will depart right on time but sometimes there are circumstances that might cause a delayed departure.

If everything is running on time... you'll enjoy sail-away at 5 pm... weather permitting, if you've never done it, be on deck... somewhere... and enjoy the excitement of sail-away. 5 minutes before your reservation... head on to the restaurant! By 6 pm you'll be well beyond the sea buoy and heading out to see. You'll have all week to see all the sunrises and sunsets! If the weather is bad... the Viking Crown is a great place for sail away! If the ship is running late, then you'll miss sail away... and have to book another cruise for the experience. But each port is a sail away... so you'll have the chance to experience it in other ports. Sailing out of Port Everglades is fun. There is a chance that the ship will be delayed, but it is a better chance you'll sail on time. Winter months are when ships are most likely delayed, waiting on passengers from delayed planes. Whatever you decide to do... I hope you have a wonderful cruise!
