New-to-HAL cruisers booked on Oosterdam, what should we know?

My husband and I just booked our first HAL cruise on the Oosterdam. We got a great last minute deal and are wondering what suggestions you have for first-time HAL cruisers. We're in our 30s, no kids, and will be celebrating our second anniversary.

I love the Oosterdam and will be taking her to Alaska in July. She is beautiful and elegant. Read the above post and prepare to enjoy.

Take advantage of the library for your mind, the wrap around teak deck for your body, the fresh squeezed orange juice at breakfast in the Lido for your stomach, and the fresh flowers all around for your spirit.

Get to know the staff, especially your room stewards and your waiters. We have found them to be very friendly, happy, and courteous. Amazing how most will remember your names. Ask them about their families back home and you will notice they will open up to you and become more friendly. We have always been extremely happy with the staff and the great service they provide.
