Razz21 Posted January 16, 2015 #51 Share Posted January 16, 2015 I just booked my first Carnival Premier Players Club cruise. The dates finally lined up where I could go. My question is--- For those of you who have gone on them before---Were you pleased ? Were the free gifts nice ? Was it well organized ? I always enjoy the casino and am really looking forward to it but just wanted some more information from those who have been on one. Thank You :D:D We have cruised with Carnival several times with there casino $$000. Just paying taxes and port fees. We have a great time. I have always received promotional chips from Carnival and they only can be played. They also give you a free drink card for in the casino. If you tip the servers your drinks will come quick and often.

CELIACAT Posted January 29, 2015 #53 Share Posted January 29, 2015 We just got off the Breeze with our first ever Casino Premier offer. Not sure it was that great. 1st night meet & greet with "free" drinks and appetizers. Very slow coming around with drinks- got one each. small bits of food - just so so. Drinks on us in casino is only good when you are physically at a slot or table. Took about 1/2 hour for a drink. You can loose alot of money in 1/2 hour waiting for that "free" drink. In stateroom gifts: upon arrival- 2 plastic tumblers(nice) . One bottle of cheap wine, chocolate covered strawberries, and a dozen cookies ( they were the Best!). Last night 2 beach towels (nice) They did upgrade our departure times from zone 15 to 5 but it did not matter to us. Might to some. We were arriving late day of arrival so early on board did not matter to us either. Did not win any drawings. about 2 each day. I guess you can weigh the pros and cons yourself. But I would rather have a cheaper cruise than the "free perks". and yes we did receive a bounce back for a free interior on select sailings on departure day in our mail box. We had a similar experience on B2B on the Breeze in December. But we had a couple of AWESOME experiences on Splendor last year, so we are sailing her again in April. Seems there is no standard across the brand - it's hit and miss by ship. Splendor has the best casino staff we have ever encountered - Go Sam!!! Razz21 Posted January 30, 2015 #56 Share Posted January 30, 2015 I have never had an issue with Carnival casino program. Drinks are free. That means you tip the servers. They come back every 15 minutes if you take care of them they take care of you. I like the program better than NCL. Taxes and port fees on NCL for 2 was $650. Carnival $250.00 the ships are going to the same ports. carnival is a better value and the food is better too! clcjdn Posted January 31, 2015 #57 Share Posted January 31, 2015 That whole tipping thing didn't work on my last Triumph cruise......I don't think they know how to cover a floor.....all servers went out at the same time and came around within minutes of each other then wait 30-45 minutes for another pass.....was painfully slow most of the time. How did the casino cash work. I have heard varying stories about how that is distributed. Some say its all cash from the cage, some say its promotional chips, and some have said its "match play". Maybe it changes with the ships? Any info you can provide would be helpful. We are going on our first premier cruise on Feb 20th on the Sunshine. We are going on our first premier cruise on Feb 20th on the Sunshine. It is the same for all ships. Look at the promo you booked under. The offers are very specific for the type of casino money you receive. "Casino cash" is paid in cash at the cashier. "Fun chips" are promotional yellow chips that you play at a table game as if they were regular chips, except when you win they take it and replace it with a regular chip. "Match play" is not part of a booking promo and you won't receive it automatically. It comes from buying a Carnival classic cocktail...at the casino bars they give you a "Match Play" coupon. Other bars give you a receipt to take to the casino to get your coupon. Play the coupon plus $5 on a table game only on even play bets (like on roulette even or odd, black or red, etc.). If you win they take your card and leave your $5, plus they pay you $10. Lose and they take your card and $5.
Davey Wavey Posted February 2, 2015 #63 Share Posted February 2, 2015 So I need to keep lots of dollar bills in my pocket for tips. Or just put it on your S&S card when you sign for your drink. Even with a ON US drink card, they bring a receipt for you to sign. If it feels like drink service is slow, feel free to ask the dealer to flag someone down for you. They tell the pit boss so you'll have lots of eyes on a server. I have asked servers to just bring me my drink at every half hour. They are good at it. I agree Splendor was easily the BEST casino staff I've seen.
CELIACAT Posted February 2, 2015 #64 Share Posted February 2, 2015 Casino cash was cold hard cash at the casino cashier. We brought the mailer with us to make sure we got the correct amount. and we did, heard some people did not get the correct amount.

hightownCO Posted February 26, 2015 #67 Share Posted February 26, 2015 I'm on Carnival Magic 3/29 Premier cruise. I think it's my third Premier and I've done one other casino offer cruise. I think they are great and have no complaints at all. I'll get $200 cash too. The hosts have been very nice and on top of the Premier gifts have offered comped steakhouse meal or spa visits. Hope they keep offering them so when I retire in 2 or three years I can go more often than a couple of times a year.

I've heard that on some of those cruises they have so many casino players that you can't move in the casino, and they even increased the table bets to attempt the supply vs demand equation. If this is true, I would much rather cruise on a typical cruise, and not have to fight for a seat at my favorite game
LaCal Posted March 19, 2015 #69 Share Posted March 19, 2015 Hi we just got our Carnival mailing today They r offering me a free inside cabin and $1,000 casino cash plus the free drinks , party etc. The wife was offered $400 casino cash n drinks etc Only loophole is we have to book by the end of this month which in itself isn't bad The Bad part though is were leaving on NCL this Sunday on a 7 day Caribbean cruise and the Carnival cruises they are offering are all this year up till June None even at the end of the year 😂😂😂 so as bad as I wanna take advantage of the free cabin n $1,000 we might have to pass it up 🙀🙀🙀😂😂 I may try calling and see if there's any further out cruises we could book to take advantage of it Anyone ever try doing that??? Jillbu Posted March 20, 2015 #70 Share Posted March 20, 2015 Those offers have been out for quite a while, they show up for us online about 6 weeks BEFORE the mailing shows up. That being said I have not requested an extension. Usually by the time the end comes most sailings are sold out for Premier. Then new ones show up within 2 weeks, I would check online starting around April 2. Always new offers around the corner.
LOVINCRUIZIN Posted March 23, 2015 #71 Share Posted March 23, 2015 I have experienced the same thing - they do come out regularly, and it does become hard to pass a couple up (which is why I went 4 times last year!) But the cruise fare is no the expensive part

ETski Posted March 27, 2015 #74 Share Posted March 27, 2015 Join the players club and play a lot in casino I have a silly question what do you mean when you say join the players club. I have never signed up but use my key card in the slot machines when I cruise. Does that automatically sign me up for a players card"
